I can’t see jorgo leaving rugby to at least after 2027 either with the RWC just about to come up
i see us bringing one rookie in for 2027 and maybe going to market for the other

Was thinking when Toops retires and Marky moves on there should be approx $1 mill freed up to spend.

We are set for 2026, but Angus,DCE and marky mark are off contract, so there should be $$ available to go to market for a 2027 player, also plenty of players off contract in 2027, so will be interesting who we want to renew in November next year,

Radley,Spencer,Watson, butcher x2, Walker, toia, just some of the players who can negotiate, with Perth, and possibly PNG coming into the comp, there could be a lot of player movement happening.

            No.
No more Union stars, look how the 2 we bought in recent times have worked out.
Came and went in the blink of an eye.
Plenty of already trained in RL players around.
$500,000 and a new car could get some players to switch clubs.

Yes ,such a disappointment, but unfortunately not unexpected. Find the new style of player movements destroying the loyalty/rivalry of following players growth and allegiance only to see them in other teams.

2 extra teams won’t help either. Penrith will be in the box seat for many years now with their juniors.

Yes I agree 2026 fairly well penciled in, 2027 on the other hand, as you stated, will be interesting.

                  • mmm return to the NRL in 2028 or continue being paid more coin to play French and even Italian rugby with favourable tax incentives.

Pretty much certain that Manu and Suaalii won't be coming back - very doubtful that Mark will either and the lure of the Euro maybe too hard for Matt Jorgensen to resist after 2027.

                    • Apparently Marky will make the ashes squad regardless of his intentions to play RU again.

If Im Mal Im going hard to get Burton as my marquee signing, I think he would be receptive because the Dogs want Woods & Galvin as their halves, I would then go after Alomoti, Rodwell, NAS, Gosiewski, Tom Starling & Chevy Stewart they would be my 7 core players after that I would be looking at pommie players.
Spine of Starling, Rodwell, Burton & Stewart.

We have another good one on the injury list however the difference with this kid is he is pencilled in long termish, could still be a threat when the time comes but Rex will be one to watch, in fact I’m pretty sure he is listed as the man to replace Teddy.

                          • sad news marky's leaving but not unexpected but it's great that we've got him for another year. he'll be wanting to win a comp before he goes

                            • Marky and others would be crazy to come back to play league. More value in playing overseas and living a fun life rather than a capped life. The Aussie dollar pitiful.
