Once again the 50+ curse has struck. The stat says that any team who concedes 50+points in any competition game during the year cannot win the comp. Everyone ignored it a few weeks back when Ricky's Reserves got whipped by 50points by the Dolphins .....it didnt apply in this case because it was basically the reserve grade team ....but there you have it (reserve team or not) they couldn't overcome the statistic curse ! I wonder in hindsight if Ricky would still rest his top squad in the final round ?

The Raiders have a good squad of mostly youngsters and, as long as they take their lessons from this year's finals, they will be a premiership contender for a number of years to come.

Ethan Strange not playing was a big loss and, well, who knows how much the loss last week took out of them.

Melbourne Storm will do a job on the Sharks next week.

The Roosters should be thinking about what if as they could have beaten the Raiders tonight and then Melbourne Storm next week.
I agree Salvo. I don’t mind Ricky, and whilst he was gifted a gun team, he did win us a GF.

How do you go out in straight sets after being minor premiers and 2 home finals
tbh we would have got them tonight
        How?
You have an easy draw to get to minor premiers.
        The draw was a joke.
Your attack mostly relies on barging thru the forwards, which doesn't work on teams that also have big forwards.
You, like many other teams, let tries in down your wings.
And, giving away dumb penalties for high tackles etc never helps your cause.

And we'll see another blood bath today. Riff by plenty with the dogs the other top 4 pretenders to go out in straight sets.

The Raiders and the Chooks hit the old Bondi Wall.

It would be 10x worse than how we felt after we lost last week.

Opportunity missed, the Raiders were cooked after last week and without Strange and Savage, lose a lot of x factor, we would taken them down, provided we didn't put in an absolute shocker. Weekes cannot do it by himself, he needs some foils.......

Sharks are definitely a chance next week....

We missed a golden opportunity to make the preliminary final and play a Melbourne team who have some injuries and haven't been at their best for a while now.

I respect him for what he did for the Roosters. Doesn’t mean I have to like what he does for the whinging, moaning, everyone’s against us, sooking, milking 6a faiders. Besides that, try living in Canberra amongst their annoying supporters and biased media coverage and you may develop a different appreciation for Ricky. Then there’s the fact he’s a protected species within the news corp media machine with all his mates there to look after him. I had a soft spot for the old raiders team of the 80’s / 90’s. Not anymore.

Stuart had Fittler as a player from 2002-2004 and Phil Gould as a coaching director in 2002-2005 and without either of them he completely shit the bed in 2006.

I took my dog for a walk this morning to Sydney Olympic Park which is near my place, I walked past the NSW Rugby League office, gym & football field & Stephen Crichton & Montoya were in the gym doing weights so I had a chat to them. Both lovely blokes & its such a shame theyre both out.
Crichton wasnt in a moon boot but he said he's definitely not playing. He's a big boy & just looks like a footballer. Not just because I met him today but I like him.
Penrith will be too strong for the Dogs & the bloke who has replaced Crichton at Penrith Casey McLean is a champion player. I would pick McLean & Ramien as the Australian centres if I was picking the team.

I never get the hate I sometimes see for Ricky in these parts.

He is a major part of our story.

Always loved his passion, although the whining can get grating.

I've been hoping either they or the Sharks get up & win it this year, as all the other alternatives make me wanna puke.

Thats where Im at too but I do admire Melbourne for being a Champion team for 20 years & I think they deserve to win the comp but another part of me admires the Panthers & would like to see them win 5 in a row.
I would also like to see Reece Walsh just torch it next week & get the Broncos into the GF & win it.
But Up up Cronulla is who Im now going for.

I don't think anyone on this forum can say we would definitely beat any other team we've been up and down like a brides nightie
