  • James Tedesco - 2025 Jack Gibson medallist

No surprises with this, but an amazing achievement by one of if not the greatest ever fullbacks to play the game.

This is the 7th time hes won the award in his 8 seasons, a record that may not ever be beaten.

      Incredible
7 out of 8 years is insane
most likely not done before or will again at any other club
      still only 32
and only came to us at 25
      best recruit of all time

Congrats Teddy. What an incredible achievment.

He is only 32, probably has 2 years left playing at a really high level before he might drop off quite a bit just simply due to age.

Slater is the no.1 fullback (as much as I hate the cnt) of the past 30 years, but thats mainly due to the fact he was the first fullback to play in that style and have such an influence. Combined with Origin achievements he will be very very hard to top.

But Teddy is clear no.2 for me.

Better than Inglis, Hayne, Mini, Stewart and if he can jag another premiership as captain you can put him up alongside Lockyer for sure. I'd argue he is already at (or even surpassed) Lockyers level as far as on field play and on field influence goes, just needs that extra achivement of captaining another premiership.

It is time for the annual call out to Chookpen poster Large Mike for his 2018 prediction that Tedesco would prove to be the worst signing in the club’s history. There should be an award in his honour too.

Well deserved. Had a bumper season.

Had to laugh at Spencer calling the journos "Muppets" when asked about Radley.

Does himself no favours but that was hilarious.

                Teddy is the GOAT Rooster.

This should be a sticky and this is the kind of news I want to see spread about the roosters as well as Marky Mark. They have both been a magnificent showpiece for the greatest game. Other players need to strive to be like these guys. Congratulations Teddy and Marky.

                    Congrats Teddy.

It's such a shame that the focus this week is on Radley and the Cheese when there are 2 big finals games on and our presentation nights.

Definitely one of the greatest Roosters ever.

What I find very impressive is he also won the award in our two premiership years (2018, 2019) so it's not as if he was a standout in an ordinary team. Some seriously good footballers at the Roosters in the time he's been here.

On a side note, and as I care little for Origin, I think him missing Origin benefited him and the Roosters greatly. I still believe he deserves an Ashes jersey though and would be rapt to see him get it. He's so far ahead of that bald headed peanut it's not funny. Reece Walsh may have something to say about that though.

I am a biased, one eyed Brad Fittler fanboy until I die but James Tedesco must be fast approaching equaling Freddy as far as influence and impact on the club is concerned he has been nothing short of tremendous and the only real dip in form for him was that period where he was clearly playing injured on top of being burned out from non stop rep footy and having to do everything for our club during a prolonged injury crisis.

Reece Walsh will take the baton from Teddy he has superstar written all over him he just needs to develop a bit of on field maturity and control his passion a bit but he's a great player already. It is a shame that Tom Turbos body did not hold up to first grade rugby league demands because he was every bit as good as Teddy but we didn't get to see it as much. I like the Hammer too in the current crop he is better than Edwards, Papenhuyzen and Ponga on his day but he can drift in and out of games.

One of the great competitors of the modern game.
A lot of players would've spat the dummy after getting dropped from Origin but Teddy used it as motivation and he's playing some of the best football of his career.
