“If somebody’s caught doing cocaine or leaning over snorting something, we’re going to get rid of them,” Politis told The Sunday Telegraph.

“Our stance is zero tolerance. Trent is very strong on it, and so am I.”

The NRL’s current illicit substances policy allows for a first-strike warning with mandatory counselling, while a second strike permits clubs to suspend or terminate a player. However, Politis argued that even “white powder” scandals—where players appear with unidentified substances—can damage a club’s reputation and warrant dismissal.

“We want to send a message to kids, and to mums and dads, that our club has that sort of stance,” he said.

Daily drug testing for Victor from here on. He needs to come clean if he did in fact solicit drugs through the (mouldy) Cheese and use them.

There is no actual footage of him snorting coke.
    Only phone records discussing it.
It should be handled by the club behind closed doors.
I would be devastated to see Rads sacked - he is a great player, and gives his heart and soul for the club.

    Yeah the internal discussions.

i'm hoping this is sabre-rattling from the club. not sure the club can sack a player for this if the nrl has a 3 strikes and you're out policy. the rlpa will be looking at this very closely.
what did nick say back then? i think it was reported in the tele but is there a transcript of what he said? the devil is in the detail. could be he was saying what he wanted rather than what a workable policy was.

if the club goes through with this the players should get together and anyone who has ever used cocaine should put their hands up. they should have a chat with nick behind closed doors and nick can have a think if he wants to make some adjustments to what is a noble but difficult to achieve aim.

I understand your point. I’m pretty sure rads has a carpentry business on the side he handles along with his family no? Maybe he is better suited to working on the job site for a little while.

Smiths texting about starting the match and the first tryscorer bets is the big story. And for that he must surely be deregistered by the NRL.

The Roosters just need to let the Radley stuff blow over. No pun intended.
