  • Your player of the year for the regular season.

    1. Teddy - Arguably in career best form. His leadership during this rebuild season has been outstanding. My 1st choice for a Kangaroos jumper.

    2. Hugo - The perfect foil for Sammy the games most creative playmaker. Savala has added composure and has steadied the ship through his ability to play systematically. Lock him down longterm.

    3. Marky Mark - What an athlete and a try scoring machine. Lethal in the air and has helped transform our right edge on both sides of the ball.

          1. TEDDY - his statistics are just disgusting. He is in everything with our attacking plays, and I'd even go as far as to say he is largely responsible for Marky Mark's success. He is almost always chiming in on those plays on the edge and making the decisions. He makes almost 200 meters a game. No1 in the NRL for tackle breaks. No1 in the NRL for half breaks. No1 in the NRL for run meters. Easy choice - he is our most important player.

          2. WHYTE - 143 run meter average for a middle forward is outstanding, especially at his age. Big workload. 2nd highest post contact meters in the NRL. He has filled the gap the JWH left admirably, and the bonus is that unlike Jared he gets along with the officials. Without him, we don't control the middle of the park so well, and without that we lose the arm wrestle. Vitally important.

          3. THE WALKER/SAVALA COMBO - our attack was a mess or patchy before these 2 got together. Complement each other perfectly, especially kicking game. It always feels like we can pull points from somewhere now, even if behind or in a tight game

HONORABLE MENTIONS: - MARKY, LEINU, WATSON, TOOPS

              1. Teddy - a clear winner here
              2. Whyte - one of the top 5 props in the comp now and completely lead the pack early on outperforming Collins and Spencer who were higher paid and regarded at the start of the season
              3. Marky - apart from a few errors has been a huge season for him becoming the highest try scorer and setting up tries with freaky skills

honourable mentions - Sammy Walker (could have been dally m half with a crazy 15 try assists in only several games and had as easily top 4 had he played the whole season - look forward to he and Savala next year!
              watson allways solid
toops having one of his better years
then guys like Savala, toia, billy smith, steep and Foketi stepping up to be very good nrl players

The obvious three will fight out the Jack Gibson Medal.
Teddy by a landslide (same as Dally M).
                  Marky and Whyte equal second.

But away from those Robbie making his SOO debut after a handful of games has to be the highlight. So much expectation on this kid over the last couple of years and he hasn't disappointed. They knew what they were talking about.

Hugo has been the diamond find of the season. Without him we do not make the Top 8. EOS.

Pretty much nailed it with this.

Special mention to some of the other young lads making their mark this year, such as Wong, Foketi and Steep, plus whoever flicked the switch on Lindsay, Spencer and Egan late in the year.

Interesting that their form changed including critchon around the same time the cheese and dom young were getting moved on early for not living up to their pay packets
perhaps a tap on the shoulder or realisation

The Cheese wouldn't have been good for team morale if he was constantly borrowing money from his team mates to support his gambling addiction.

Hugo played 22 games. The Eels match when Sammy was concussed was his only poor performance imo.

He's had an exceptional year for a rookie half!
