Big bench from Cronulla. Should be a good battle in the middle

hard to get a gauge on how the sharks are travelling. they've won their last 3 but the dogs were poor last week and otherwise it was wins v the knights and the titans after losing to the dragons.
we're looking pretty good with the loss to parra the only blemish in the last 6 weeks. we're enjoying stability and are rightly favourites

The last time we played them they just penalised the crap out of us.

Im kinda hoping it being a final they might just let the two teams go at it.

Im not holding my breath, but itll be super infuriating if we dont receive some penaltys in return e.g running escorts on nawaquanitawase which you know for damn sure will happen as how will they stop our two air jordans otherwise?

Robbo better have a plan b ready.

Big bench - not many contingencies if a half or Brailey goes down though

Fitzy is smart enough to know that he shouldn't try and beat us through the middle, the Eels showed the blueprint
We should beat Cronulla - i know they got us in the last match but the team as a whole was flat

For those who like stats we are the favourites $1.74 to $2.10 with the bookies....and this year over the whole season over all nrl games the favourite with the bookies won 63.1 % of the time!

It’s going to be very tight. We won’t steamroll their middle, and they don’t give too much away.

For those saying we need a plan B and can’t rely on our aerial advantage, that has really only been prominent in the last month. Not very long ago, our stats were dead even for tries scored on either side and through the middle.

                  GO EASTS!!

Its going to be a corker of a match.
For me it will be Brisbane, Penrith Chooks & Melbourne

This will be a tight game I think. There is not a great deal in it statistically. Stats for 2025 to date:

                          Sydney Roosters

                          Cronulla Sharks
                          • Total Points Scored: 599 points
                          • Total Points Conceded: 490
                          • Tries Conceded Per Match: 4.1 tries conceded per match
                          • Line Breaks: 52 total — averaging 4.7 per game
                          • Offloads: 98 total — averaging 8.9 per game
                          • Top Tackle Breaks: Mulitalo (96)
                          • Top Line Breaks: Mulitalo (20), Iro (11), Stonestreet (9)
                          • Top Avg Run Meters per game: Fonua Blake (162), Katoa (160), Mutilano (155)
                          • Top Kick Meters per game: Trindall (358), Hynes (226)
                          • Penalties: Worst Offenders: Hynes (17), Nikora (13), McInnes (11)
                          • Errors: Worst Offenders: Mulitalo (42), Kennedy (30), Trindall (23)
                          • Missed Tackles: Nikora (64), Wilton (55), Trindall (54), Hynes (50), Burns (48)
My main take away is - we are the better attacking team, they are the better defensive team.

We have much more strike across the park, and our back 5 are streets ahead in terms of potency. We trounce them on offloads, run meters, tackle breaks and points. We also break the defensive line A LOT MORE than they do.
Whereas they are highly reliant on Hynes and Mulitalo for attacking potency, as well as the better long kicking game of their halves.

Although their defence is better overall, they really have some turnstiles in there, with 4 of their players racking up big missed tackle counts. This suggests to me that on their goal line or in a more structured situation, they are pretty solid & better than we are in this regard. But our attacking abilities through the middle and edges mid-tackle count will be a vulnerability for them.

Surprisingly for penalties and errors, we are relatively even.
Our form guide is even too (4-1 each).
I dont think Shark Park is much of a cauldron at all, so home ground advantage is not big.

I think we'll get over the top of them, but it will not be as decisive as if Hynes wasn't playing.

Teddy guiding the attack & breaking them open to be the difference in my opinion. Some of his stats are just mind boggling this year.

                          Chooks 20, Sharks 16

Sharks do have a massive bench
I remember last time they got us in the forwards in particular bench so our middles will need to step up and we need to play a fast paced game to run their middles around
if also say Nikora will come back in somewhere

could go either way but hoping we can push on at least another week or so - we need a fast start to keep their crowd quite

They played very well last week. We'll have to be super tight around the ruck because their 9 is super quick out of dummy half. Will be won in the forwards, and Fitzy will be very motivated after we bundled them out of the finals last time.

Won't be easy, but if we can;t beat the Sharks we don't deserve to progress.
