solid second half from the girls. probably could have done better with both of their tries but otherwise they defended great. naividi made 35 tackles, missing one.
yeah, it's been a great regular season and they've done well to win the minor premiership. they've been a pleasure watch.
the week off comes at a good time. hopefully aiken, hall and baxter are all fit. can't see nasio missing any footy for that hit.
    bring on the finals

Strange gave an injury update in his post match presser

      - Hall felt a pop in her calf will have a scan tonight (if it is a torn calf her season might be done)
      - Fressard going to get a scan on a potential syndesmosis.
      - Aiken not sure on diagnosis will have a scan they hope it might be a meniscus tear rather than ACL either way her season might be done.
      - Sergis had back spasms.

nasio's been charged with a grade 2 offence and is set to miss a game unless she fights it. it's a bs charge - yes, she leans into the contact and doesn't try to wrap her arms but the shark's player doesn't make much of an effort to avoid nasio and would have made contact even if nasio hadn't braced for contact. don't know if it's worth the risk of fighting it though.

as far as i can tell still no news on aiken, hall or fressard

Big trouble if they are without Aiken, Hall and Nasio for the semi-final especially if they have to bring in an underdone Baxter to replace Aiken.

it's not looking good, fletch. i'd back the girls to win the semi but beating the broncs in a gf would be hard, but no point jumping at shadows - hopefully we get good news on the medical front

Watched the first game of my viewing career. Girls were dominant but that Nasio is a superstar in the making. The commentator said they got permission to bend the rules for her to play when she was 16. Hall was scary too

Strange is surely a bee's dick away from an NRL coaching gig.

The onus is on the defender to avoid dangerous contact. It was silly because Nasio made no attempt to go low.

if she'd tried to make a tackle she would have been penalised for tackling taylor without the ball. for mine aliyah had time to pull out of contact. she went in because taylor only made a half arsed attempt to avoid running into her and aliyah braced for contact and then some.
given that there was no injury and there's a higher bar for missing games in the nrlw the charge seems a bit harsh. but not sure it's worth the risk of fighting it

Agree. Robbo should bring him in as assistant if Holbrook goes to Newie. We will let him bring his son too as a gesture of goodwill.

Absolutely sucks but unfortunately not unexpected it certainly looked like her knee buckled before contact.

With the events of Thursday night (injuries/suspensions) the Broncos should now be considered favourites to take out the NRLW title.

i agree. the broncs are paying 2.10 to win the comp and that's pretty good value. we're still a realistic chance but losing aiken is huge.
we beat them during the season without aiken so you never know. as far as i can see there's no news on hall and fressard. if hall is fit by the gf i'd back us to win. if not, then wait and see.
baxter's fitness becomes a huge factor. papalii and taneisha grey are also worthy replacements.

Hall mentioned she felt a pop in her calf and if it is torn like it seems that is likely her season done.

Going to really rely on a very underdone Baxter to come in and perform after not having played for a couple of months.
