    Round 11: Roosters v Sharks | Roosters

round 1 of the east v the shire on thursday night.
kelly's been named to start so that's great. even if she doesn't play the full 70 she'd loved to get back into it before the semis. fressard back to the wing.
still no sign of baxter which isn't ideal but hopefully she's fit for the semi. no semi will be a gimme but it's the potential match up with the broncs in a gf that looks a grade above.
the girls are the same 17 except for kelly in for burton. naividi could play a bit of dh again.

John Strange hinted during his post match presser on the weekend that Isabelle Kelly was more a chance of returning Corban Baxter so was no surprise to see this being the team named. Unfortunately for Baxter it is going to be hard for her to force her way back into the team if there is no more injuries as she simply has missed too much football to be risked in a final.

Hopefully I am proved wrong. I can't see the upside in Fressard over Woods. Woods is safer, faster and has better hands. Yes, Fressard runs stronger and harder but I think that makes her a better bench option than starting winger. Personally, I think Fressard could make an outstanding middle forward.
Other than that.... what a squad and bench.

a win in the gf rematch gives the girls the minor premiership. with the week off next week there's no reason to take the foot of the pedal. not sure how the sharks are travelling this year but they've got some good players and a win would probably give them an easier game week 1 of the finals

The Sharks are 4th with 6 & 4 record. A win could move them to 3rd, as the Cows (3rd) are playing the Bronco’s (2nd). A loss could drop them to 5th as the Knights should beat the Dragons.

they've got something to play for but i was wondering if they were playing well. i haven't seen them play. sportsbet has it as a two horse race. us and the broncos are pretty much even money to win the comp and the sharks and the knights are next, each paying $34! could be the nrl has been overly ambitious in bringing the extra two teams in this year. maybe it has spread the talent a bit thin

Not good the NRL Physio thinks it was a non contract injury with all the hallmarks of an ACL.

Girls playing really well but injuries will be the big story Aiken gone and now Fressard down with an ankle/foot injury.

Amber Hall limped out of the game with a calf injury and Sergis struggling with a back injury.

Congrats to the girls on winning the Minor Premiership while staying undefeated now they have 2.5 weeks to sit back and work out how to win a semi-final likely without Aiken and Hall.

That is a ridiculous sin bin for Nasio as Taylor ran straight into her after kicking the ball she doesn't have to move out of her way.
