  • Top Try Scorer

Congratulations to Mark Nawaqanitawase. He is now guaranteed to be top try scorer in the regular season.

The hammer scored 3 against the Raiders NSW Cup side, then did an MCL and was replaced.

Marky should become a triple international at seasons end.

Well deserved. It would have been tragic for him to lose it because of Canberra resting all their players.

    Sign him for 10 years.

Well done Marky Mark. A little bit of luck today kept him in front of the Hammer.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Yes. Rugby 7’s is treated as a different sport from Rugby Union for these things, so if selected for the Kangaroos he will become a triple international - Rugby, Rugby 7’s and Rugby League.

I thought that might be it (as ridiculous as it is) - thanks for clarifying.

Does this count as his second miracle? Saint Marky?

great achievement for a player in his first year. not sure he was in the top ten try scorers two games ago but, like when he chases a bomb, he's come from nowhere and soared above the pack

                    Congrats Marky.

His error count has dropped significantly down to an average of 1.95 errors per game.

He is also the highest try scorer for any player in a debut season. Beat the record set by Noa Nadruku.

Didn't he play 1 game last year? That's not to take anything away from his achievement which is phenomenal.

I also read that he has scored the most doubles in a season for a Rooster since the legendary Dave Brown in 1934 I think it was. What a season he has had he's been tremendous and I hope he wants to stay with us and the club pays him his worth because all of my friends who aren't Roosters fans love watching the bloke play he's becoming genuine must watch footy

He's been so much fun to watch this year, it's rare that wingers can break games open but Nawaqanitawase has done so a few times this year.
