I guess I might have to wait to see how they go against the Raiders, and whether I need to change my tune.

Would be a very bad signal for them if they do, risking two weeks. It would be like saying "we can't beat the Roosters without him so what do we have to lose"

I thought the charge was harsh, but the NRL have let him off without asking them to plead a case. Double standards for different players/clubs.
Personally I thought the suspension was a farce but would have liked him to get off through the proper process.
Under the Vlandy’s and Abdo regime, it seems like the rules are just ignored when suited. I’ve never seen the game at a state like this. I’m not surprised though, I mean these are the same people who changed the rules of the game mid season and postponed Taylan Mays finals suspension as it’s “what the fans wanted.” Absolute bullshitLast edited by QWERTY; 09-08-2025, 02:40 PM.EASTS TO WIN!

Buzz Rothfield’s column has gotten Stephen Crichton fined and now Hynes downgraded.

Very confusing from the MRC. Downgraded because Montoya's injury means he will only miss a few games instead of the whole finals series?
But yet I noticed Jamie Humphreys hip drop tackle hasn't been downgraded from a grade 2 even though Siua Wong isn't injured.
So the extent of the injury matters in some charges but not others?
The NRL need to seriously explain this because it looks very suspicious.
Anyway not mad that Hynes is playing, struggles in the big games. We just need to put some pressure on him.

Anyway, Easts are all too familiar with playing against the odds. It will be no different on Saturday night.
