We just can’t go on with the job or make the gf if we don’t get serious about it. We have a way better roster than Cronulla yet we lost because of stupid errors. It was a final and we kept turning possession over in our own half! Abominable for a finals footy performance. Just unacceptable. The team just doesn’t slowly build momentum and pressure but tries to score off every set.

I think I heard on NRL360 last night that the Sharks are very disciplined. WTF ! Who taught their coach how to coach ?
Our performance in the semi was horrific. 1 from 4 these past 2 years in finals.
We can only cross our fingers that the penny will drop for Robinson over the summer that we have to change things for the better.
I want to see us in GF's, not limping into finals and doing sweet F A.
Go the mighty R W & B.

decent speech from robbo at the jack gibson awards - Trent Robinson | Jack Gibson Medal 2025 | Roosters
when all's said and done 2025 will be judged by how we go in the next few years. at the very least you can say that the club hasn't gone backwards.
this was a year when we were fully fit come finals time but we weren't able to cash in. our run of good form wasn't long enough for it to become a habit. no doubt not having sam for the year was an issue but it didn't help that he broke his thumb when he did. you could also argue that the head injury v parra was crucial. that doesn't happen and maybe we win the game and have irresistible momentum

Robbo had us all believing before the Sharks game that the team was ready and focused on this one game, and our footy will do the talking..
Only for the team to come out and play one of there worst games of the season, with yet another poor performance with ball handling ,which Cooper Cronk highlighted after the game..
Not sure what to believe anymore, hopefully improving ball handling and discipline is at the top of the list for next season.

I think this year has been his best coaching year.
You know to lose 6 world class players & be without Walker for most of the year & make the 8 is remarkable.
We are fit, we have a big, tough, aggressive forward pack a back 5 that are lethal 2 sensational halves & great bench.
The Chooks are in a good place because our leader (Robbo) is a true leader of men.
He's the best coach we have ever had.

Hard to gauge with robbo
between 2022 and 2025 3 seasons we have been saved as a pass mark scrambling into the finals off 2 months of wins to get there
last year was our best chance but key injuries hurt us at the wrong time
injuries were on our side this year but consistency was not
we played one of our worst games in the Qf with a full strength side so left abit of a sour and also what if feeling again
tbh in the next 2-3 years I reckon he will have some pressure on him as we have slipped well off the par of the Panthers and storm systems and results despite a stacked side
at one stage we were considered with them and even above however we have come back to the pack recently
we still have a squad loaded with premiership players but beating ourselves through penalties and dropped ball is so frustrating to watch
we have a young squad but pressure is certainly slowly building and if robbo can’t get us into the top 4 soon and find a way to win in the next few seasons he will also face the musicLast edited by Chook2; 09-27-2025, 07:23 AM.

The question is would those players and thus the 'player talent' be as good in your estimations if Robinson didn't allow them to play with such freedom?
Take Mark Nawaqnitawase, I can almost guarantee that at nearly every other club he would've been told to pull it back a bit and not always play what he see's. So he would become less effective in attack.
I believe the 'player talent' is a credit to the Robinson and the way he brings on players.
Every action has a reaction, if you told players to focus more on error rate and less on eyes up footy are they still going to be as effective in attack? And if not then to what degree? Are they a better overall side for doing so and if so what's the evidence?

Robbo said in his last post match press conference that it's all about winning the comp and that basically coming second is no different to finishing last. With that said, he hasn't won a comp since 2019 and has yet to be successful in the 6 again era.
The current playing system is so frustrating to watch! It's like being on a roller coaster. Awesome one week, garbage the next with the same high risk footy that imo won't win you a comp in the 6 again era. He needs to find the middle ground which still leaves enough room for the playmakers to do their thing and hopefully be the point of difference.

it seems more so then going for the try scoring play
we also need to learn to build a game and be patient and not to try and score off every set or play! No team will win a comp playing like this
also the complete lack of consistency week to week
