I think this year has been his best coaching year.
You know to lose 6 world class players & be without Walker for most of the year & make the 8 is remarkable.
We are fit, we have a big, tough, aggressive forward pack a back 5 that are lethal 2 sensational halves & great bench.
The Chooks are in a good place because our leader (Robbo) is a true leader of men.

He's the best coach we have ever had.

This is the 9th season in a row that the club will have made the finals, only achieved twice before in the clubs history. 1930-1938 and 1996-2004. He will be going for history next year.

He has made the finals in 12 out of his 13 seasons as head coach. The most of any coach in our clubs history.

He has coached the club in 345 first grade games, 166 games more than our next highest, the great Arthur Beetson.

You have to respect both is ability to get results and his resilience to do it through a significant length of tenure.

This season isn't overly surprising to me based on what we saw in 2013 where he significantly elevated the performance of players who finished 3rd last only the season prior. Nor in 2017 when we went from 15th to 2nd in the space of 12 months or in 2021 where he lead us through the most dramatic of injury circumstances and limitations to finish 5th.

But it is a very good reminder of his quality as a coach, it's so easy to point out the numerous rookies in the squad but its also players like Whyte & Wong who are perfect examples of players only 50 games into their careers playing like well established veterans.

No doubt the Robinson knockers will choose to rewrite history suggesting that a top 8 finish was always the expectation and that he's got a stacked roster again with internationals like NZ star Whyte & ex-wallabies star Marky Nawaqanitawase. Or that he's blessed with origin players like Watson & Toia. From those he wont' receive the credit for building those players up and building his roster, it will just be used as a reason not to credit him for what has been a very good season and one that I get the feeling will carry us onto future success.

        Quite amazing TBH.

Yes we play for premierships but IMO Robbo has a knack for making us competitive even when there's rule changes specifically designed to destroy our defensive style, transitional years and widespread injuries destroying our chances.

Seeing Wayne end his season with a whinge about injuries got me thinking 'yeah well we had some pretty shyte luck to... you can either play the victim or you can get on with your shyte'.

Some wanted him sacked (again) after the Parra game. Two weeks later they want a statue of him.

This place would be pretty boring without the Robbo, Butcher, Young etc knockers so please get off your high horse.

Let's all have the same opinion. Wow that would be so much fun

Worth noting that 14 of the 17 players who played on Friday night all made their NRL debut with the Roosters. Of the 3 that started elsewhere, it’s probably only Teddy that you would consider a superstar.

Just pointing out how fickle some are.
The previous month we were the hottest team that most commentators were saying we were the smokies that no team would want to play in the finals. We lose one game and our own supporters want Robbo sacked. Now we are in the finals and no matter what happens from here he should be coach of the year.

Sorry if you were one of those and this triggered you but it is what it is.
Welcome back on board the bandwagon. Everyone is welcome.

And this horse feels like it's 25 hands.

Only Allah and the Inflictor are perfect. lol

It's easy to sit on the fence and have pot shots at those with an opinion. Zero nous required!

Fans losing their shit when we drop a game and wanting the coach and player x dumped is entertaining. It's also part and parcel of every sporting forum on the planet.

I don't sit on the fence. I say it as I see it.
The Inflictor is far from perfect. Very far.
No idea who the other guy is.

Robbo’s not afraid of making hard decisions. Getting rid of May, Young and Smith. Most coaches wouldn’t have the guts to look like a f-wit in the public forum.

Not many other clubs could say the same.

But hang on, the Roosters always try to buy a premiership.

He was saying last night on Nrl360 that this years coaching by Robbo is up there with his best ever saying to the panel how we lost 6 top line players & what an achievement 2025 has been.
