  • A Monumental Achievement for Robbo!

The team’s consolidation of a top 8 spot is a monumental achievement for Robbo considering this was a rebuilding year.

Initially we lost Keary, JWH, Suuali and Manu so had to remould and reshape our backs, forwards and even wing as Young proved ineffective.

It was a turbulent year which began badly with a number of losses. I personally was getting fed up with our error rate and penalties and on a number of occasions called for a substitute for Robbo but the truth is that with all our marquee players gone it was up to him solely to make us competitive again and to his great credit he fixed the halves problem with Hugo and Walker. The wing with Toups and Marky Mark and our forwards making them feared once again.

Im not expecting we will go far this year but the experience our boys will gain is invaluable and will set us up nicely for the next two seasons to have a shot at the trophy. So above all congratulations to Robbo for turning a rebuilding year into a finals appearance where the roosters will be a very much respected and feared team. No team will look forward to playing us in the finals no matter who they are.

Ricky Stuart will probably win Coach of The Year this year, but what Robbo has done for the club this year is amazing! Those who were calling for his head should hang theirs!

And hey! Brett Read...."They can't make the 8!"? "I think Souths will get them!"??

I remember speaking to Nat Butcher at the beginning of the year when Easts had just been absolutely flogged in a trial. I said: "Are you worried?" and he replied "No". And his eyes lit up when I asked about Walker's injury progress and what his return would bring to the team. I guess the players know better than we do.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

          Robbo is the Roosters.

He is the driving force that sets the standards of our wonderful club.
I think this year has been his best coaching year.
You know to lose 6 world class players & be without Walker for most of the year & make the 8 is remarkable.
We are fit, we have a big, tough, aggressive forward pack a back 5 that are lethal 2 sensational halves & great bench.
The Chooks are in a good place because our leader (Robbo) is a true leader of men.

He's the best coach we have ever had.

Coaching a younger dynamic squad has reignited his passion for the game imo.

You can definitely hear the excitement in his voice when he talk about our squad.

Making the 8 during a rebuild year is a great achievement. Coaches like Benji Marshall and Des Hasler would be in awe of Robbo.

Robbo is so important to the club, the greatest thing to happen to the club in the past 40 years. This is why I get so annoyed with the knee jerk reactionary threads every time we lose. We don’t need Bennett or Bellamy as we already have our own champion coach. Have faith in him. Having said that he can tell DCE quietly to retire lol.

TBF Buzz called him out on that a few times.

And great to but the Roosters knockers on their arses with the mouths opened. Totally wrong Mr Peebody

Read is a dead set gronk and a pathetic crawler. F him.

I have been dark on Robbo - but yes he has done a fantastic job this year.

Whyte and Mark N have been absolutely outstanding.

One thing that is undeniable about Trent is that he times our push for finals every year the last 10 weeks season after season he delivers, he gets us there, yes it’s nearly impossible to win outside the top 4 (bar maybe this year) but we have been injury ravaged year after year since our back to back triumph, we finally have a healthy squad at the right time, and maybe just maybe we can have a serious tilt at the title.

                    Go Easts!

Mr Peabody was also adamant that they should not bring back Sam Walker for back end of season, bring him back next year from his knee injury. Braith has never let him forget that comment on 360 almost reminds him of it on a weekly basis ! The 360 panel absolutely gang up on him every Monday night ...... it's the best part of the show !

Robbo has always had a stigma from opposition fans that he needs a team of stars to be successful. I think it's fair to say that most of us had reservations leading into this season that our depth could cover for those players who left at seasons end.

Even if we go out next week, Robbo has impressed the football community in what he has done in developing a number of unheard-of players into a competitive squad.

seems like everyone's on the same page. credit to robbo, credit to the players.
robbo's been doing it for a while now and it's hard to compare one year with another but this and 2021 show that he's not a fair weather coach

Which is a ridiculous opinion from opposition fans. Every club needs multiple superstars to win a comp. It's a team sport.

Would Bennett have been successful in the 90s at Brisbane without all his QLD origin players? The most success Bellamy has had was when he had Smith, Cronk, and Slater in his spine. Raiders in the late 80s and early 90s had Mal, Ricky, Laurie, Laruzus, etc. Would the Dragons have won 11 in a row without their immortals? Even Ivan's success has been off the back of a group of superstars coming up at the same time....

but yeah, nah, Robbo, unlike other coaches, can't do it without a superstar team.
