I agree...SBW should not allow the dogs to profit.

They have already upheld the deal that he wasn't allowed back to the NRL without their permission until his contract expired and received compo from SBW.

I would make it known well in advance that SBW would not play against the dogs if it was their home game so that they cant make one more cent out of him! Unless of course they do a deal between the 2 clubs to halve the purse..(whatever is the best outcome for us only)

You know what I agree with their sentiment.

Why should the Dogs benefit from SBW or us? Why should they get the gate from what will be a massive crowd?

Fark the Dogs, they have never done us a favour.

If there is to be a game in round 1 it should be at the SFS and we should get the full gate.

The season opener should stay as Easts v Souths.

It works well and its something both sets of supporters look forward to.

To loose that tradition next year would be short sighted.

Next year round 1 is a Roosters home game as it alternates every year gives both clubs a fair go at the gate takings.

If the bulldogs are pushing for a season opener at homebush against Easts, then our management would be crazy to even discuss the option.

If the NRL grants it . then to have SBW sit out the game is perfectly logical from my point of view. Reasons

1 . By agreeing we forfiet the big crowd/gate takings at the SFS against souths. and wreck what has become a great traditional season opener

2 . Easts have forked out the big $ for SBW and for the dogs to use him as a marketing tool for their advantage as a season at the expense of the traditional season open is not on.

3 SBW as of the end of this season owes the bulldogs nothing as he is a free agent and any clauses that the dogs were owed by him are done and dusted as of the end of 2012.

No matter which round easts play the dogs next year it will draw a big crowd. The only question is whos home game it is ...considering we play them twice this year not sure how it works next year by the off chance we meet them once as to whos home game it is.


PS ...All these points are made without SBW having been officially announced as a rooster signing
