    Uncle Nick likes to incentivise.

SOO is a beast and won't suffer without Haas, Tino and Luai etc. There are enough quality players in the country that would kill to play for either team.

Personally, I would limit origin to anyone who was born in that state or your parent played for that state, regardless of country eligibility. Tino and Greg Inglis for example should have/be playing for NSW.

For the sake of the international game, I'd allow players to qualify for a country based on heritage. But once you make a decision you can't switch.... for example Kevin Pietersen in the cricket. I don't like the idea of players flip flopping between teams over the course of a career. Get rid of the tiering structure. Everyone in the same tier. Including teams like Lebanon and Cook Islands. Pick.a country you wanna represent and stick to it.

I mean does this strike anyone else as slightly arrogant?

Surely the Poms have decent centres without having to call on Billy Smith

Similar things happen in soccer. Players will choose a country they have some attachment to if they know they can't make their first choice option.

The thing is he's probably good enough to play representative football in Australia. What centre has a better overall game than him? There aren't many.

                The rules are a joke.
No way Radley or Smith should be allowed to play for England.
And soo should be exclusive to players who wanna represent Australia.

If not for his injuries, I believe Billy would have been picked for Origin by now.
The reason we let Fatrell go to the Vermin early is because we believed Billy would be a ready-made replacement at left centre.

I don’t mind it particularly if one or both parents are Poms etc. Strengthens the international game which I think is a good thing for the game in general.

                        Because they are Australian.

No, it makes international football a joke.

In your opinion and that’s okay - I don’t agree. It was a joke already having a WC when only 2 teams could compete. I don’t mind the eligibility rules for this reason.

                              Ring in!

My issue is that it artificially inflates the other countries by filling their teams with better skilled Aussie players rather than drawing from their own pool of resident players. Especially when they are parachuted in for tournaments after the other players did the hard work to qualify.

There's 1 player across Tonga and Samoa that were born over there we wouldn't have an international game if you didn't allow players to play for their heritage which happens in every other international sport
