I have to disagree with you here Mickie, JWH hands down was the most influential forward I have ever seen pull on a Easts jersey, yes he was mean he was a massive grub and dirty all of it I agree but Adrian Morley was next level mean he was a downright stone cold killer, he turned the GF in 2002 for us with his enormous hit on Villasanti after the grub tried to put Freddy into a coma.

Yes I have seen snippets, I should sit down and really analyse what made Artie great, I’ve been meaning to and I will, I have found myself digging through 90’s games recently more just because I felt like the game was at it’s pinnacle in those years and the fact that it was before I began following the game, the way it’s changed since the 6 again era and the diving, feigning, acting, wrestling and whinging to the refs leaves a sour taste in the mouth 90’s felt like it was pure Football.

Artie played 5/8 as a junior. He was a skinny kid who also dabbled with fullback & centre. It wasn’t until he was forced to fast for 2 days before (IIRC) tonsillitis surgery around his mid teens that he started to eat a lot and put in size.
