  • Try of the year?

Everyone must know the try I'm talking about.

It's as good a try as I've seen all year.

Is there still an award for try of the year these days?

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Not eligible. Looked too much like a rugby union try.

Honourable mention for that one as well.

Well, I'm still a little unclear - it's the Angus try from last weekend, right?

The one Seibold dismissed as another "try from a kick"?

There should be an award for both individual and team tries of the year - we would win both!

Great try but nothing will ever beat this one.

I remember it well. Might have been a forward pass early in the movement, but it never seemed to be a problem back then.

The Easts try at the sports ground I witnessed. I said at the time it’s the best Easts team try I had seen and still holds true to this day. I was there behind the goal posts with the Paddo/Bondi connection and Gary Warnecke fan club.

Agree, that was an incredible try, a thing of pure beauty. The try on Saturday was a beauty also. Toups catch and offload was just too good. Three Manly players around him who all thought the ball was dead.

Great try I was in the Turner Stand that day The hands by Hohn Harvey on the half way line along with the catch pass was exceptionally skilful for a front rower in those dayss

                            Now that's Roosters style footy.

There was always a support runner back then. It was hardwired!

There's no denying that the try posted by Horrie is probably the greatest ever try captured on film, but surely the try we saw on the weekend ranks as the best so far this year.
