Not announced officially yet but young gun Harold Matt’s player of the year Carter Mareko has signed a 3 year extension taking him up until the end of the 2028 season.

He’ll play SG Ball next year and is moving into the Roosters shared apartment from October this year. The team are heavily invested in his development.
I know him and his family very well and I’ll be super proud if he in fact makes it to 1st grade.

Another positive to come out of the central coast academy.

I had a feeling this might the case when the Roosters let Tyson Walker return to Qld with still a year left to run on his contract.

I assume he will play for the Roosters SG ball side next year but will be interesting with the CC having their own team next year.

I've yet to see any of the games from the combined schoolboys comp but heard he was a real standout which at his age is seriously impressive.

I have heard Carter Mareko will play Jersey Flegg this weekend.

Not confirmed but if true and he's going straight from Harrold Matts to Jersey Flegg it would show just how highly the club rate this kid.

Carter debuted last night in Flegg at 6. Took over general kicking duties including goal kicking. Played well in a narrow loss.

Watched his youtube clips. First thought - very impressive. Second thought - he's a pretty big body for a half. Not as big as Hugo, but solid. Looks like a very classy player.

The junior pathways arrangement looking like a better investment by the day.

Yeah he has some good skills but most think he has a similar style to Kotoa from the Dolphins

He has been barely sighted this year so it would make sense he moves on considering the amount of players in front of him to crack the NRL
Surprised Souths didn't have another crack at him, they went hard a few years ago

Speaking of Souths have signed a big unit Phillip Lavakeiaho from our SG Ball squad, he actually made his NSW Cup debut this year as well
