tipping my hat to Harry, played out of his skin to beat us. Back to us, a mixed feeling, I'm not going to blame Walker or Toop but something need to be changed. I've accepted we're not going to be in Finals this year so hoping the boys using this year as a platform board to attack next year with all the accumulated experiences gained by our young players.

When presented with an 8-point lead deep into the second half it seemed like a good idea to spread the ball inside our own 20m for the opportunity to gain an extra 10m or so.Originally posted by Bansai Pipeline View PostWalker needs to ice games. All the skills but not when it's needed. Hugo more composed and reliable I'm beginning to think
I know some people will roll their eyes at me nitpicking a single moment in a game especially when it was Angus who dropped the ball. But it demonstrates Sammy's risk /reward calculation is still where it was a couple years ago when he was dumped for making a couple high risk low reward plays in a close game vs Sharks.

How the f#ck was Grant able to dominate this game?
I said in post 33 on the Roosters vs Storm thread started by Waylander that we needed to contain Coates , Hughes and Grant’s runs from dummy half and around the ruck.
Blind Freddy could see this coming after what Brailey did to us last week.
Complete f#ck up that this wasn’t rectified BEFORE the game.
The only shining light from the Storm game was Big Lindz.
As for DCE being our saviour next year , you can all hope - all the top teams like the Storm, Riff and Dogs have a pensioner halfback with a walking stick guiding the way for them , so I’ll laugh all next season when DCE is in the side.

DCE is exactly what our young halves group needs, Walker isn't able to lead the team around thus far and Hugo/Sandon can't do it either, DCE can.Originally posted by roostermcgregor View Post

from memory there was more than 10 mins to go. while that's not the time to force passes i don't think there was a lot of risk in that play. it was just catch and pass stuff.Originally posted by dice View Post

if it had been with 5 mins to go it would have been the wrong play

To be fair.Walkwr is 3 games back .Way off his game.Timing etc..takes a while to get your mojo back after an Acl.Originally posted by MKCS View Post

There were a few rushed passes in an attempt to run around the opposition. I can understand if it was early on in the game as a warning shot to the opposition not to compress their defence. Being up by 8-points the only thing required was getting to the last tackle and letting Storm take the risks from their own half. If Storm are rushing up in defence then sure two well-timed passes out to avoid first receiver getting smash but that is it.Originally posted by caz View Post

I agree totally with Walker and it can't be easy, but hoping he's not one of those players who remain tentative for a very long time. Confidence a big thing in this game and fingers crossed he's tougher than he looks and gets his mojo quickly. An example of this is some of his passes under pressure looked pretty awkward and looked as though he was in two minds..Originally posted by The Brain View Post

Grant should have been taken off the field for a HIA .Originally posted by Fairfax View PostSmall point. Harry Grant copped a boot to the head with 15 to go. He lay down and didn't get involved in the next play. What was the independent doctor doing? That and six again seems arbitrary.
He was down on the ground for at least 30 seconds after Spence ran at him.
Bullshit decision from the bunker that they did not pull Grant off the field.
Whatever you say about Spencer, he always needs to be in the team. He adds the fear/ intimidation factor into the side.
The Roosters need more like him - unfortunately the rest of the forwards are pretty much soft c#cks.

Spencer needs to lift his game. He was on the field for 63 mins and only ran for 70M not to mention he is shocking defending off the line. Spenny and Whyte are very lazy ruck defenders last night they let Harry roam creating chaos. Siua too, there’s no chemistry in the defensive line.Originally posted by roostermcgregor View Post
