not inaccurate when it comes to this year but poor discipline and too many errors isn't part of what robbo means by roosters footy don't you think?
bellamy's a great coach and is the king of regular season footy. no one else comes close. when it comes to the big games his record isn't exceptional.

I have no idea what Robbo means when he talks about "Roosters footy" these days. I think he just makes it up as he goes along to the tune of a $1.3 million a year salary.

i assume roosters footy is just supposed to be good footy with a flavour added by the players and coaching staff from their discussions. nothing wrong with having a common purpose. every team wants it.
you can criticise last night's performance but the roosters footy stuff is a sideshow

Well I just saw a snippet of Flanno’s presser and he said we didn’t play ‘our footy’. Presumably this is Merge Footy? See it’s just a label and all coaches go on about it in their own unique style.

I have never been sure about his rubbish he talks about “the roosters way” sounds to me a whole heap of crap we haven’t really been competitive now for a number of years - unless I am wrong we give away the most penalties etc and errors - have a look at how the Panfers play and train we see that now with ex Panfers assistant coaches being successful at The dogs and warriors. I think Robinson had a trip to Hawaii at one time as the University of Hawaii coach a number of years ago saying was “ we will chase championships” he just changed that to suit

According to the pen Roosters footy only happens when we win. Then all the alleged sins of Roosters footy are conveniently forgotten. Why people get caught up in the semantics of a term I don’t know. Have you noticed how the Riff play a certain style? Yep that’s riff footy. Cleary may not refer to it as that but it’s how he wants his team to play, within the riff systems and style. Of course Trent wants us to not drop the ball, not give away penalties and not run sideways. Perhaps it’s just a fact we haven’t had the quality of players, especially in the halves and hooker, Penrith have had over the past five years and this is why Robbo’s Roosters footy isn’t implemented effectively? When it does work it’s brilliant to watch and no one complains about Roosters footy.

Robbo has now clarified the slogan “we play for premierships” . Apparently it means we build teams for premierships not just to make the finals series. He answered my question , assume he must be an avid follower of all things in the chookpen

i might be wrong but i took that two ways. one, we've always got our eye on what it takes to win premierships in the medium to long term. two, we're behind the eight ball to make the finals this year, but if we do make it we want to win the comp
