  • WTF Robbo???

We're pretty much playing for our season and he selects Chad the competitions worst player to start in the halves. What was he thinking? There was no chance in hell that this would turn out to be a masterstroke!

Surely common sense prevails and he opts for Sandon who on a bad day is still twice the player that Townsend is. Sandon has the potential to produce the odd masterclass as was evident on Anzac Day.

Where to now if Savala is unavailable next round? Does Robbo dig his heels in and play Townsend against the Storm? Is it time for young Toby Rodwell to be given a chance or will he give Sandon Smith another opportunity to make amends. Who knows after tonights debacle!

Yep he has put himself in a pickle by saying Sandon needs to work on his game, and that Chad is a student of the game, as you said, the only way to get out of it is to put someone completely new into 5/8 next week, or double down with the Dux of the nrl.

Chad is not the reason we lost. Terrible completions and terrible discipline. Handed Sharks great territory all night long.

We were never winning once he was picked In regards to our ball handling by the last 5 minutes a group of us Rooster supporters on the family hill were in fits of laughter at it I guess it was laugh or cry

When a player in a key position performs so poorly it effects the outcome of a game. You can't build momentum or find any rhythm when one of your halves struggles so badly. You're pretty much better off playing with 12 men. Players in such poor form just choke up the backline and get in the way. Their anxiety can also spread throughout the team which was evident tonight.

Bottom Line, Robbo farked up selecting the wrong player for a season defining game.

How about we start fining players who drop the ball! Seems like we never make teams earn a win- instead we just hand it them with simple dropped balls. Chads game tonight was sound-the loss wasn't his fault.

I reckon we are by far the team that gives away the most amount of restarts sets of six late in the tackle counts....and we get a restart its normally on tackle 1 or 2, or 30 seconds before halftime! Maybe just a coincidence

Robbo was an embarrassment in the presser tonight. Usually holds his head high but tonight was an exception.

                    Sound?
                    5 missed tackled
                    8 errors
                    2 ruck infringements
                    Gave us nothing in attack.

Which part of his game was sound?

The loss wasn't entirely his fault but we he provided nothing helping us win either.

                    You are very forgiving.

Wouldo you be happy if he played next week?

If Townsend had any decency, he'd de-select himself to give the team a chance next week.

Townsend always been a organising half- i wasnt expecting anything more than that and a decent kicking game. Sandons intercept passes and wrong options in attack have directly cost us at least 2 wins this year-and contributed to at least 1 other. If he played tonight he would be the one everyone would be hammering.

Angus had a unhappy night-his mistake of dropping off a tackle before it was completed led to a try, as did his dropped ball in the first set of six after we scored. Rob Toia got caught out in defence tonight too that led to a try and even Radleys defence was off.

Id be happy if we held the ball next week- because if we dont it wont matter if Townsend is 5/8, or Sandon or Savala or Jesus Christ. We just have to better across the board

Nearly every try for the Sharks came from a Townsend involvement. He was poor to start the season and he is even worse now.
Robbo, you have made some dumb decisions, but this takes the cake for the dumbest of dumb calls.

I bet if I did a survey there wouldn't be 1 player that wanted Townsend there instead of Sandon.

The ‘rooster style’ of high risk footy will always end up in multiple errors no matter how many roster turnovers we have. This style produces error after error as it’s impossible to do it every game.

It still makes no sense that a half, who has played every game this year, and has at least some combinations with the rest of the team, gets overlooked for a half that has not been good enough to crack the team since round 5.

you are right though, Sandon playing tonight doesn’t mean we win, but damn, I would of thought he had the runs on the board to at least be given the chance.
