Mate Chook mentioned a few weeks ago that the club needs a review from the top down, I agree with that assessment.

The club has a soft reactive culture that existed before Smiff was appointed.

I, like most, have issues with the coaching. But IMO changing coaches now, while it may look good in the short term like in 07, will simply mask the true issues surrounding Easts.

Look at how many times since 06 we've been told the coach has lost the dressing room. pRicky, dOpes, Freddy and now Smiff. Look at other clubs, yes it happens, but with that frequency??? I can't recall another club that has these issues so often in such a short period.

It goes deeper than just Smiff IMO. Even if we do replace him now I don't see much changing in the long term. It will be groundhog day within a year or two.

    The FlogPen .

    You know it makes sense.

The only common denominator I can see is Braith Anasta...???

            Interesting isn't it mate.

These things seem to follow Bwaiff from my observations.

It's never his fault, he's always a fan fav, but it's astounding how many coaches and 6s he's left in his wake.

For a playmaker and a leader controversy sure seems to follow the bloke around like a bad smell.

Taka could be a gun with a decent coach . Or at least one that showed confidence in him.

Taka will be a gun player of the future. Unfortunately for us it will undoubtedly be for another club as Smith doesn't like players with attacking flair and boots them from his squads ASAP

It pains me to see him languishing in reserve grade.. this guy has talent and fits perfectly with the offloading culture that Smith wants in the team... and unlike many others (FPN, Kennedy etc) his offloads are actually with precision and accuracy... who knows what the Coach wants right know

His offloads are accurate because he doesn't hit the line hard enough.

This bloke is pretty damn overrated. Looks good at times during broken play and i agree, probably deserves a bench spot but to me he looks like another unfit impact forward who bludges in the centres. We already have Anasta for that.

Sometime I don't read all these comments regarding how good/bad of these players, are you serious bout takarangi, what level your playing career got to before you change into being a story teller. He's not up to it physically. Jets might be ok but no way he's a FG player.

Rusty Fairfax was the last decent one. He got screwed.

sounds to me like you just accurately described Maubs this season. Maubs gets pretty much a full 80minute game each week, is largely unsighted for very long periods and has very little to show for it. Rarely bothers to hit up the ball. That's lazy

I've been more than critical of Maubs this season.

He has been horrible. At a time we needed him to stand up too.
