  • Cronulla tonight

They are playing tonight without there 2 best players yet they have shown everything that we are missing, good coaching. They have a good game plan with structure, 2 or 3 hit ups with fast play the balls then spread the ball along the open side with decoy runners on every play. If they dont look like scoring they get a repeat set of six. Then in defense they are hitting in numbers and wrestling them to the ground not allowing for the offload.

When we played the broncos in origin period we were missing 1 player yet we were a shambles. No direction or structure and just threw it around willy nilly. Our plays are blind side go blind side and maybe try the blind side again or put the mid field bomb up.Even in the rain that day you would think they would have structure yet the boys looked like they had no idea what to do. I shouldn't be surprised as we look like that in every game however this game has highlighted the difference in our play and coaching.

Now i belive the players are too blame as well and could be playing a hell of a lot better but with the way they are playing you can tell the coaching is not working. We dont have the worlds best players so why cant we at least have some structure, not throw silly passes on the 1st tackle and make attacking raids on the open side with plays and decoy runners.Surely they can be coached that. No wonder pearce is so unhappy.

Its so frustrating watching how we play and knowing we can do so much better. With our side on paper we should be doing a lot better and i really think the club needs to bite the bullet and bring in another coach cause at the moment its just not working and if we were slowly improving that would be alright however we seem to be going backwards. We need change ASAP.

Isacc de Gois & John Morris are streets ahead of Friend so they have so much more creativity coming from dummy half. De Gois can read a game he is a really really good player. They have 2 genuine hard dirty nuts in Smith & Gibbs plus they have the guy who is the next Paul Gallen/Greg Bird type player in Wade Graham.
Jeff Robson is playing sensational football as well.

Good luck to Shane Flannagan he is doing it the hard way but they going good.

Anyone still rating Wallace above Pearce?

Props to Flanagan by the way, he has done a pretty special job down there this year.

I know PIM, you pretty much rate everyone above Pearce.

And as much as I rate you as a poster, I am not sure about your footy judegement of late.

                No offence intended.

I thought Josh McGuire was once again sensational in a losing side playing 80 minutes. Someone should show Martin Kennedy a video of the way McGuire hits the ball up. No powder puff runs in there.

The op was spot on about the way Cronulla played. Our boys are like lambs to the slaughter the way they are coached to play. The change to our coaching has to happen ASAP.

                    yes.

if you're referring to the intercept pass, Pearce also threw a pearler last round..

Wallace is still streets ahead in terms of the array of kicks in his arsenal (not just the one hopeful kick and hope cross field kick employed by Pearce) and the vision he possesses. A much smarter player and isn't as one dimensional

If Pearce gave away the two tries that Wallace gave away tonight there would be days of crucifixion.

We judge our player way too harshly.

I am going to ask the question, even though I have fair idea the response ...

Kennedy was such a strong nugget in the 20's and early in his NRL games, what's happened? Without pulling the Smith lever, is there a confidence issue due to injury?

He sat with us (his mate is a Dogs member) after a Rooster-Bulldog 20's match about 3 years ago and after some initial ribbing was actually great to talk to and seemed quite well grounded.

Robson is playing better than both of them.

It's hard to say, from what I have heard he has a chronic foot injury so if that is the case he is a courages guy but it is at the expense of the team. He cant give it his all which in turn is letting the team down.

Or it could be that he is like alot of guys who come through the 20's with big wraps & make an impact as a rookie in FG but once the week to week bashings starts they cant cope with it.

Or he may take a few years to develop & become better in his mid to late 20's

Or he was overrated in the first place.
