Sucks for Elliott that he becomes the latest Roosters player to have a substantial stint on the sidelines after opposition foul play that caused a serious injury.

Roosters NSW Cup captain Jake Elliott will undergo tightrope surgery this week after suffering a high grade syndesmosis injury. Often a 6-8 week recovery range. Traumatic mechanism as the result of a hip drop tackle - of note tackler was charged with Grade 2 dangerous contact.

Shame for Jake - not only for our NSW Cup boys but i reckon he would of been in line for an NRL debut this week in the #14 with ZDC playing lock instead.

I certainly hope Jake is one of the current halves that sticks around - if he keeps on growing could easily be turned into a lock forward or backrower
With his current size and skillset he could play centre now.
