  • 3 Hookers walk onto a field

One plays 80 mins, the next plays 51 and the last plays 12 mins.

I realise Connor is a make shift hooker and Zach has substituted for parts of the game but now with the emergence of Benaiah it makes for an interesting situation, especially when they all play dummy half within the same game as they did to great effect against the Cowboys last start.

2026 will be even more peculiar when Robson arrives as he is mostly an 80 minute player. This is becoming a rarity in the current state of play with most sides playing dual hookers due to attacking teams spotting up the hookers and working them over in defence.

The selections and rotations the next few rounds will be telling

For next year I'd say Robson first choice, Watson to play off the bench at maybe both hooker and lock throughout our games in different spells? Ioelu as back up and ZDC would be third string at best.

          9. Robson
          13. Foketi
          14. Watson

loelu - Depth NSW Cup and continue to develop his game.
ZDC - Surplus to needs. New club.

Watson to come on, add impact and play 9 or 13 depending on the dynamic of the game.

Watson’s utility value doesn’t mean he necessarily needs to be on the bench all the time when we are full strength. He’s one of our best players in the team. He should be starting every week. The game is fast now so no need for entirely massive forwards. Quick forwards can do the job.

              Agreed.

I bet the thread title on this one got Mickie Lane going.

I think ZDC deserves some respect. He’s stepped ip for us for many games this year and he’s done a very decent job for a lowly paid, less known player. He’s energetic and always gives his all and has had a positive impact when on the field. I’m not saying he needs to be kept, just reiterating that I appreciate what he’s done when given his opportunity. I also know he’s one of the most popular amongst the playing group.

He has definitely picked up this year. Looks a lot fitter and fills in admirably. I have been impressed with him but agree with you as I think he will likely move on at some stage. Would be a good buy for a team like dragons, titans etc.

He only re-signed with us last minute on a nsw cup contract this year to - by all accounts was going to Hull until January
I can see a team like Manly, Eels or Knights giving him an upgraded contract

                      Good player

Agreed. Can't knock what he's done this year.

I watched bits and pieces of this game.

If we can have our full team on the field there's no reason we couldn't go toe to toe with either of them. I recall bombing a game against the Dogs only a few weeks ago.

The problem is, we always seem to be 5 or 6 players down.

yeah, just because he might be the game's 'best 14' doesn't mean he shouldn't start. he's super fit and can play the full 80. i'd start him at lock. maybe rads's best position is lock but he goes alright on the edge
