Write a letter to the club mate. Not sure if they’ll read it but can always try your luck lol.
I don’t care either way if he comes or not next year, I see positives in both and am on the fence with the signing. One thing I think we can agree though… just farrrking announce it already. For the sake of all parties. It’s getting tiresome.
Interesting all this recent talk saying that Nick honours his agreements, seems like they are trying to set up the senerio of "Yeah we don't want him now, but we made the deal so we will stick to it."
Nick is a Billionaire, to think that he always shook hands and never changed his mind is ridiculous.
He's coming, every expert, media personality etc has alluded to him coming here so it seems like a big open secret amongst the NRL community and insiders. We should be pleased by it, even though it is one of DCE's worst seasons and there are clearly tensions at Manly he's still outplaying both of our halves combined in key stats although many here will try and overlook that and say that's wrong because the Roosters are in 7th and Manly is in 10th and we've won an extra game than them despite having the better overall team...
We won't win a comp in 2026 with Savala and Walker as our halves combination, we likely go very close with Walker and DCE as our halves combination especially since DCE's Origin career is seemingly over. Sandon Smith can have fun at the Eels, Titans or in Super League, Savala will have to go out on loan whilst DCE brings us a comp in season 2026.
He is still around as "Head of Recruitment" no idea what that means as Joel Carbone recently signed as "Recruitment Manager"
Then you also have Dean Feeney as Jersey Flegg coach + and "Player Development Manager"
I have it on good authority from someone associated with the club that DCE is definitely coming. Sandon has already been told to look elsewhere and we are going to develop some of our youngsters coming through.
DCE will mentor the young halves ready for when he retires.
The likes of Rodwell and Mareko are looked at as his replacement from those in high places. More than likely at 6 with Walker at 7. They couldn’t tell me the long term plan with Savala though.
I still dont think we keep both even if DCE does not come. Let's assume Walker plays with Savala. Where do you play Sandon?
Robson is 9.
Radley is 13.
Watson is 14.
Sandon is a first grader.
The only option I see is if Walker plays with Sandon, and Savala is prepared to wait longer. Or his versatility gets him a bench spot.
Been saying this for ages JC. The arrival of DCE has no extra bearing on Sandon or Savala’s future at the club one way or another. It might fast track an exit that was likely to happen already. As you said, can’t have 3 starting halves so one of those 2 will have to go, and it appears to be Sandon judging by all the talks. Which I think is the correct decision out of the 2.
