  • Roosters poach 16 YO Rugby Prodogy Agapetos Lote-Felo

The gentlemen’s agreement between the private school rugby juggernauts of QLD and NSW against poaching talent from each other has been broken.
Star The Southport School No.8, Agapetos Lote-Felo, will complete his schooling at Sydney's Scots College after signing with Sydney Roosters.
The prodigious No.8 made his First XV debut aged just 15.

Lote-Felo played Round 1 in the Harold Matts this year for the Roosters before getting injured for the rest of the season. Another big powerful running prop coming through the ranks.

From the article he has another 2 years with the Roosters which will see him through to his first year in SG Ball and then he has a big call to make about either League or Union having predominantly played Union growing up.

Also has a brother 2 years younger who is supposedly as equally impressive and we all know the Roosters love a brother combo…

Do you suspect that is a deliberate recruitment strategy on our club's part R6? We seem to have a fair few brother combos and I wonder whether the club use this to also ensure young players settle into the area a lot easier and quicker.

        We approach em
        then poach em
        then coach em

Remember, we are the only team that poaches.

Poached - haha. He leaves Alabama to go to school at Scots College and the Roosters Academy.

I don't think it's intentionally deliberate but given how heavily the club likes to engage the families of players in the recruitment process it makes a lot of sense, especially when a lot of these kids are relocating into boarding homes or the Roosters house.
