  • Team vs Tigers

So Origin stars out will be Lindsay, Spencer, Gus, Watto and Toia. Other players unlikely to be available Walker, Rads, Wong Nat maybe Sandon and Egan but I’ll assume for now Sandon and Egan are okay - that will become clearer later this week I hope.

So what is our team going to look like?

    1 Teddy
    2 Toops
    3 Billy
    4 Nawaqantiwase
5 Tom Rodwell ? Or Ethan King?
    6 Sandon*
    7 Hugo
    8 Whyte
    9 Benaiah
    10 Makatoa
    11 Egan*
    12 Steep
    13 Foketi

    14 ZDC
    15 Losalu
    16 a Va’a
17 no idea maybe Ethan Roberts gets a run?

Ethan Kings been in the 18 for about 6 weeks now. so im tipping him for the wing spot but the way Tomrod is going he may get a start. Chad maybe called up but i would rather see young Tobyrod have a crack. Wests might be without Luai

Yeah just about right King will get the wing spot, and Chad for Sandon although that boat has long sailed Toby may be a chance.

Ethan Robert’s is a big body bondi.boy loves his big bodies would be great to see him have a run against the tigers maybe both Vaa boys play if they’re fit.

I think for balance we need a backrower on the bench so doubt both Va’as get a run.

Assuming no Sandon or Egan we probably line up with:

          1. Tedesco 2. Tupou 3. Smith 4. Mark N 5. Ethan King

          6. Savala 7. Townsend

          8. Whyte 9. Ioelu 10. Makatoa 11. Ethan Roberts 12. Steep 13. Foketi

          14. Dockar-Clay 15. Losalu 16. D. Va'a 17. McCathie

          ---

I go with Townsend over a young player simply because experience is a very positive thing especially with this side where only 2 players have played over 70-80 games of first grade (Teddy and Tupou). Admittedly I've never seen Ethan Roberts or Max McCathie play but they are second rowers in the top 30 and have to be the next men up since we have no other options right now, good opportunity to blood them in first grade and see how they go.

Tigers will pretty much be full strength except for Luai so a good test for our depth, definitely a winnable game for us although I think it'd be a close one.

I wouldn't be surprised if Api takes the bench spot off Watto for SOO3.

And I wouldn't be surprised if Teddy is picked, just to fark up the team even more!
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

I would, Watson offers genuine utility value. Api is a specialist dummy half who can play in the halves but still not as well as Watson who covers lock, 2nd row, centre and 5/8 on top of his primary role as impact dummy half.

He's almost a certainty to be playing for NSW.

Can't see NSW making any changes. It was pretty clear the rort was on for game 2.

Am I right in saying after June 30 clubs no longer have to apply for exemptions?

Would love to see a left field pick like Itula Seve or Darcy Smith.

Admittedly Blake Steep did the SG ball step up to first grade in the same season after playing NSW Cup but I still wouldn't rule it out.

I'm pretty sure they changed it a few years ago to after Round 12...

You're probably right.. I mean would make most sense to do it before the origin period kicks off.

not a bad side considering we're missing 9 of our best 17.
robbo said rads was unlikely but didn't categorically rule it out.

Makatoa and Losalu are not remotely first grade standard. We will struggle big time with most of the pack unavailable

With the Wong injury I'd be bring Rads back in. By the time the tipgies game rolls around he would've had close to 3 weeks of rest.
