  • SBW: Yes or no?

Right, with all this talk of SBW and his many conditions, I want to see where everyone stands.

Given the most popular belief, would you want to sign SBW for only 1 YEAR, where he is allowed to play Japanese rugby until the trials and can box in South Africa mid-season?

Voted yes. Would of been better with a simple yes/no etc, not implied reasons for your answers.

He's a superstar but I wouldn't want to be paying his one year salary for the next four seasons.

Yeah fair enough, I saw them as the biggest reasons for either answer by alot of posters on here so I figured I'd run with it. Personally I'll be disappointed if he signs with those conditions.

Initially, i would've said yes had it been for 2-3 years.

However, leaning towards no now that it's only for 1 year.
Given that the club still appears to be stuck in this perennial cycle of 'rebuilding', his signing won't have the maximum desired effect had we already been a side entrenched in the top 8. Right now we're cellar dwellers, his 1 year $1m signing (or w/e) won't be worth it to simply lift us from the bottom to the top 8.
One quality second rower won't win you a premiership when you're 14th down the ladder. So it just doesn't seem worth it.
Having said that, i'm curious and excited as most people to see what he could bring to the table.

            But, no to one year.

              Big yes.

Not my money and there is no one else to sign anyway.

                  Why not, its only footy.

He will play a few good games & a few ordinary games, he might get injured he might not, we might win the comp with him we might not.

I had to vote other because while I think he is a superstar, the blokes around him are going to need longer than 2013 to develop into a really good side. And if you believe what you read, Williams is only coming for 1 year.
