All teams need a standout only the broncos winning this yr would make it a genuine team effort cos i do no see a standout player for them, griffin is very underrated.
Mate, it takes 13 (well 17 really) and yes you need a superstar but 1 just doesnt do it. You need good players around that superstar. A lot of the time, its the players around them that make them look good. Remember, in a team sport, you are only as good as the players around you.

Something needs to look better but I just dont think that the SBWalkout circus is the answer.

            yet

every club says that every year

            big deal

the only superstar out of the ones you've listed is potentially SKD, who is already very inconsistent

Our salary cap is very tight always for both the current year & year in advance so how exactly do we accomodate SBW, who will become the highest paid player in the NRL?

The moves were made a year ago. Myles, Carney, Ryles let go early & not replaced. Bought a few fringe players for this year, and brought forward payments to 2012 for current players to clear space for 2013.

SBW signing has been a longtime in the making, and the current lack of depth/lack of signings in our current roster is part of the effect of having to clearup somewhere around 1 million in the cap for 2013.

The club knew SBW was coming in 2013 before a ball was kicked in 2012.

The majority of freeing up space was done a year ago & bringing contract payments forward.

So he better be worth it. Most of us felt our roster was weakened in 2012, we are seeing the results of it.

Im not defending the coaching staff, but pretty much who is hired & fired and recruitmment decisions are out of their hands.
I cant see how the Roosters are anywhere near the salary cap limit when you look at clubs like the Dogs who buy 4 or 5 established players from other clubs every year just like what Cronulla Titans & Souths are doing.

Which by the way we have signed Maloney!

You're reading too much into it.
Was it Liam or Kieran Foran that used to play 4 Roosters??

Redrooster, I normally like your posts.

What does this source of yours tell you about what the players think of their coach smith?
