Just from this forum I know as FACT that Smith won't be here next year and SBW won't be here in 2014. I'm pretty sure somewhere along the line there was FACT that Mini was definately not going to be here next year too.
We must have a mole in the board room.

Fatty mentioned on the radio this morning that he interviewed Hasler a couple of years ago and asked him if he could sign one player outside of his own club who would it be. He said SBW. So many think he is the best coach in the game. Does anybody think of the positives SBW can bring to the club? He is a clean skin (apart from what he did with you know who at you know where but kudos to him). He is a world sports superstar. He is a supreme athlete. He will bring crowds in. We will probably be shown on free to air more often and bring in more sponsorship. Most importantly, he is an X-factor which we currently don't have and desperately need.

I would prefer it was longer than one year but do we really know that as fact? Would Nick work on getting him to the club probably over the last 12 months and clear out a few players just for one year? Maybe it is a year to year basis to see what happens with the salary cap. Who really knows and who really cares? Some worry about the affect he will have on our youth. Do you think that it will be similar to Mason, Watts, Myles and Carney? I think our youth could take plenty of positives him being around even if just for the one season. Imagine training with the guy every week and all the positive vibes compared to the 4 drongos I mentioned.

In 12 months I'm sure most of the doomsayers will be on the bandwagon saying how much difference he has made to the club. Even if it is only for 12 months, I'm sure the players would benefit plenty from him. Plenty didn't want Carney yet in one year he almost won us a comp. So if SBW gets us to a GF in one year and leaves I would be one happy chook.

I have been 50/50 about him coming but I have been converted. I say bring him on. He is worth the risk.

EDIT: Hey fred68 can you tell us the percentage of players who hate SBW?

Excellent post Buddy. I for one wholeheartedly support the SBW signing. By having him in the team I believe that will build confidence in our young forwards. Can't wait to see Maloney, SKD and Moga running of SBW offloads. We have nothing to lose and plenty to gain in my opinion with SBW next year. Many benefits with membership, sponsorship will flow on with his arrival. If current members don't renew I'm sure more new ones will sign up because he is with the Sydney Roosters.

The problem is that our glorious posters being confused between OPINIONS and FACTS

People read it one more time

Chook to club staffer "How do I apply for a voting right within the Roosters to elect our chairman and board etc"...Roosters staffer "no such thing exists".

And I'd say the only way you'd change that is through rally of Rooster fans in front of RHQ. And even then you'd have to generate enough rukus to warrant the media picking it up or Nick will take absolutely no notice, we all know how he hates bad press. But I doubt it would take much to goad Alcho Cheeks into covering it if he thought it would hurt Politis.

        Chook.
Nice one chook - I also like you raising the point of a rally
what politis and sbw have in common is they both can offload
The while club set up stinks as too the management

I'm more interested in the percentage of ROOSTERS players who are heading for the hills because they know they are being shunted aside so one player can get 850k per year...

            I'm pro SBW.

I just don't think we should be paying him for three years for one season. Assuming that's the case.

Yet another FACT found in the papers. Have you seen the contract? Do you know how much Gyngell is paying? Wasn't he at the meeting?

Name me a player we have released who was worth keeping as a result of SBW coming next year.

SBW will be playing alongside a bunch of no name players as everyone else is being shedded to accomodate the anointed one..He can be his own water boy, ball boy and interchange bench while he's at it because there will be no money in the coffers for such luxuries..

I was home in Sydney for 3 days for the Manly game and yes, it was told to me as fact from someone who was indeed at the meetings. I thought it would be common knowledge by now. I haven't been on here for a week so I'm just reading through all the posts now.

So what you are saying is that we have only lost Anasta and Perrett. If we got rid of these two and signed nobody else I think we are in front.

Sack the scapegoat (coach), sign a big name player to a ludicrous deal (1 year with boxing and Japanese off season on the side!!) and tell the players everything is fine, if you spill your lollies we'll clean it up for you and buy you some new ones. It's embarrassing and the reason other clubs and supporters laugh at us. So Nick has signed SBW to this one year deal. Has he appointed a coach yet for 2013? if Smith is gone then I hope his replacement is happy with the SBW 12 month circus that's about to come to town.
                              Bellamy, POS and SBW...
And we'll play like NSW did under Bellamy.

IMO many coaches just get a good rep because of the players around them.

Storm's SIMPLE!!! They s*cked @ss and the NRL/News Ltd felt like they needed a foothold into Melbourne, where AFL is the only sport.

Melbourne got given all the top QLD juniors for a generation so that the club wouldn't get the spoon and go bust due to AFL being the bigger sport.

It's that simple... if you can get a bunch of top players from the junior ranks without having to trick them into playing, you're set for a generation regardless of the coach. After that everybody joins the bandwagon because they want a premiership.

Darius Boyd is learning it the hard way - following Wayne around like a puppy won't guarantee him a career of premierships.

LOL..boyd has done ok so far by winning two premierships with him, most would be happy with that.
