  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Knights

Really looking forward to seeing the young guns go around again without some of our Origin stars. One thing’s for sure, we’ll get energy, effort, and a team full of players out to prove themselves.

No room for complacency though. Newcastle have even more outs than we do. We’ve got no excuses, time to go out and absolutely smash them off the park, missing troops or not.

Great to have our true forward leader Whyte back. And a farewell to Dom Young. Thanks Dom for not much. Let’s just hope you’re not Newcastle’s best player tonight.

    Kick-off 5:30PM.

    Go the Roosters!

Big opportunity for us. If I read the ladder correctly a win today will put us in the 8. It’s also a great chance to improve our point differential - we really should put the Knights to the sword and produce a big win.

    GO EASTS !!

No excuses this arvo. Lessons have been learnt (wank wank).

A big score is coming. Go the mighty R W and B.

And yes, great to see Whyte back - has put Angus, Lindsay and Spencer to shame this year.

Like last nights Titans v Manly game, O’Brien coaching to save his job with a home win tonight. Need a solid defensive effort tonight and the points will come.

A good win to show that our last win using our juniors wasnt a fluke

Walker out is a shame as it places his and the sides momentum back a few weeks plus we have to cringe around Sandon trying to pass the ball!
nat butcher out is odd obviously an ongoing issue with the knee after the hip drop for 3 weeks now
boys should get the job done! Love the bench with the 2 middles and steep coming off the bench

                  if we play well

There's nothing wrong with having a wank mate.

I hate these games too, everything points to an easy Roosters win but you know that's not how it's going to be. A few weeks ago everything pointed to an easy Cronulla win and put them to the sword. This is a game where the coaching and leadership of the captain have to step up and be spot on with preparing the team and making sure everyone keeps their mind on the job and not who is/isn't playing for the opposition.

I am confident in a win as long as the team are not complacent.

I’m confident we will win today, having Teddy at the back is a major reason for that..

If we played this Knights team with last year's model we win by 60. Even though we are rightful faves, have to factor in we have our own young bucks developing their games too. We also have the smiling assassin doing the Irish Jig in front of a loyal home crowd. IF he let's us play footy and express ourselves we could yet put on some points. We should be able to keep their attack to slim pickins on the scoreboard providing we play the full 80.

The Dom nom perplexes me. Is it one last favour from Robbo or will there yet be a late switch. Listening to his presser I doubt it. Just don't know where his head will be in this game, could go either way. Whatever I wish him well.

We are such a better team with Fahu Whyte back in. Hope Robbo gives Benny some more gametime today. He could cause some problems in the later part of the second half if he gets a second stint. The game hasn't quite fell for Billy lately despite the effort. Hoping he gets back amongst the points tonight.

We are lucky to have the form player of the comp at the back during this origin period. Thanks Loz. Still the best.
