That's a good way to put it. Sutton and Klein are not the best referees, but one thing they can guarantee is Chaos.
That ensures talk about Rugby league for the next week, good/bad doesn't matter.

The two woman are just terrible and not because they are women, they just aren't very good at their jobs.

Adam Gee just referees and no one talks about him, the NRL don't want that. The poor guy made one mistake and he was immediately dropped.
Klown and Little Jerry make countless mistakes in a game and seem to go out of their way to create controversy.
And that's what Mr. Six-Again wants.

I don’t understand how Gee and Atkins aren’t the top referees by now.
Both of them seem to handle games without controversies, and they just let the players decide the outcome.
I like watching their games, as I know the players and respective coaches have the say in who wins the game.
I thought that was what every league fan wants - the refs to be out of the limelight, poor ref decisions kept to a minimum.
Compare that to Sutton, who just wants to be the centre of attention, and who seems to get off on deciding which team will win.
I sense bias in Klein as well, and sometimes he is just incompetent.
There should be a Royal Commission into what is going on.

I feel as though there's only 2-3 surnames amongst the refs and those who don't share surnames are probably related.

Making the leap from 'bloke who gets paid $30 a game to 'full-time ref on $$$' seems to require a certain type of leverage.

Side note, a retired ref runs an arcade machine business and tried hiring me to fix 'em after seeing me do a job for a mate. He had a difficult time understanding that I'm a lawyer, live in Canberra, was drunk and was only fixing my friend's machine because I wanted to play Daytona. Not because I wanna head to Sydney every time one of his Buck Hunter machines at some random pub out west goes bung.

Yep, just like when I backed Canberra a couple weeks back because we hadn't won a game under Klein or Sutton all year, the presence of Little Jerry and the awful Kase of the Klap running the flag on the sidelines makes the $3.50 on offer for the Knights rather tempting. You just know, win or lose, there'll be some confounding "decisions" and interpretations coming...

The other weekend was rough, but that ref chat with Tedesco felt like one of those Kilmar Garcia hearings where the MAGA crew just keep yelling “A judge said he’s a terrorist!” on loop, while ignoring every request for context (because the context includes the words 'I don't know whether he is' before the quote MAGA's citing).

Teddy just wanted clarity, but Klein shut it down like a TikTok botox rep filibustering with half a quote and zero answers.
