Just my ignorant opinion but reckon they want and need the bears to be successful right off.

    What's successful....maybe making the 8.

They need interest from punters in WA so they get a decent following.

Sign nobody and stick to Walker and Hugo.

If DCE came to us to replace Townsend with a similar contract. ie. $300K for one year to mentor our young halves and play NSW Cup and be a backup in case of injury or if Walker plays SOO then I'm all for it.
Would he do that? Of course not.
But that is about the only positive he can offer us.

I've sort of changed my mind on dce , I don't mind signing him but if we have too pay over 600 I'd rather not .

def a 1 year deal , I'd be pretty happy if we got him for 1 year at 500

I think there is something far more rotten happening at Manly that is likely the reason for them being so poor. Can’t pin it all on DCE.

I don’t think the players like the coach and they haven’t been playing for him for a while. I think DCE has identified the sinking ship and is absolutely phoning it in for them. I mean what kind of club calls a TV network live on air to offer a deal to their club captain. Looked so amateur and credit to DCE he has seemingly played a straight bat and remained respectful to the club in public and said the right things. Behind the scenes I reckon he is absolutely fuming and doesn’t want to play another minute for them.

Not using it as an excuse but I don’t think we have seen anywhere near what he’s capable of this season and it’s not an indictment of him as a player. It does bring his attitude into question though, if he is going to phone it in for a club he’s played nearly 350 games for out of spite or dislike of the coach, then what will his attitude be for us.

I also think it’s a done deal so we need to accept it rather than speculate. The only way he doesn’t come here is if he chooses to pull the pin and retire all together. Nick P won’t pull out of a deal.

I have no doubt that a change of scenery will do Dale the world of good. I just don’t want it at our club.

A club that had no idea it was happening and just got blindsided by their highest paid player and captain. What player does that to a club where he would have been regarded as one of their best?

not to say he wouldn’t be an improvement to what we have playing against the knights right now, but not worth the price tag being thrown around.

I just saw this watching the interview on YouTube.

A very interesting comment, didn’t realise Clinton Shifcofske was Sam Walker’s agent either.

Statistically outplayed both our halves this week:

DCE; 1 try assist (Should've been 2), 2 line break assists, 2 tackle breaks, 452 kick metres, 0 errors, 3 missed tackles

Hugo & Sandon combined: 0 try assists 0 line break assists, 1 tackle break, 791 kicking metres, 2 errors, 8 missed tackles (3 for Hugo, 5 for Sandon)

Admittedly Hugo was stronger in defence

That's just a silly comparison and sounds quite disloyal to our halves who did a great job.

The highlights would not have shown how important Hugo's kicking game was to the win so I suppose you missed that.

But again the stat you always seem to miss. Another win to our boys as opposed to another loss to your boys.

Your death ride didn't come off this week yet again

Easts are an honourable club who keep their agreements so if there’s been a handshake unless there’s a brown paper bag under the table DCE won’t back out. But a deal could be done for him not to come to Easts.

Nobody death rode anything, just pointing out the stats and the continued hypocrisy of some (You're one of them) on this forum.

I think those hypocits at least watch the whole games they comment on.

And I'm sure there was that little voice inside you hoping we didn't get that last try just to somehow give you some belief that DCE would have got us home.

And as always only one stat counts to me. Just the W and L colomuns
