I sure hope it’s not a done deal already. Please retire DCE. The time has come.

You always talk about closing out games. He had virtually a full squad against a weakened last placed Titans yet could only generate 8 points. Last week lost after leading 16-0 against the other last placed team. Flanno and Ilias showed him up ffs. His stats are now well under 50% win strike rate this year. And you want to talk about closing out games. Slater recognised how ineffective he is. Manly already knew this and don't want him.
He is finished. There are no more stats that can support how bad he is going. End of story.Last edited by Inflictor; 06-14-2025, 12:54 AM.

Need I remind you that our team also lost to the Titans? Are our players now no good either?

13 players from the Chooks to the Bears thats hilarious.
The Bears don't want to go down the pathway of trying to be successful from day one and signing so called big name players on inflated wages under some conception that they need to be successful from day one and or even win a comp in the first year or couple of years.
They need to be patient and build a squad that will be there for the long haul with of a course a few strategic signings of experienced players.

No injury then 2 try assists for Cherry-Evans, even without the try assist though it's a pretty good game for a player, as for why Manly aren't winning, I was with a friend tonight so was only half watching the game so don't know why but I doubt DCE was solely to blame, they've been pretty below average all year.

Most would say DCE and Manly have never been the same since DCE announced he was leaving - there is history with this as well - the no train saga - DCE received a significant contract increase from 50k to 500k and of course the Titans contract back flip resulting in DCE signing a 10 year 1 mill a season deal - Other Manly players took pay cuts to keep the squad together rejecting offers from other clubs and players were also forced out of the club as a result of these DCE's deals,
Not many of the Manly squad from those times have much time for DCE nor contact with which say's something - sure not all players get along
‘He turned into a f***wit’: Former Manly enforcer Anthony Watmough unleashes on Daly Cherry-Evans
https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl...bcfb7264203e97
Hopefully this is correct - The Roosters don't need him and not just because his from is down
Cherry-Evans was then pressed on reports from Sam Walker’s manager the Roosters have gone cold on signing him after his form slump.
“No, I’m not, I don’t sort of understand that stuff,” Cherry-Evans said.
“Sort of stay out of it. All I can do is control my footy at Manly and speculation will be speculation but yeah, no, just obviously we’ve just lost a couple in the row so it’d be silly for me to be worrying about stuff like that.”

My thoughts are late last year, Manly loosely offered that to him and Daly was offended considering he plays for Aus and captains Qld and would be earning triple that now.
What makes it interesting is the Ben Hunt scenario given the Chooks made an unsuccessful attempt to sign him. Why did they miss out? Not enough cash? Single year deal? Post playing career opportunities?
If he signed with the Broncos for $350, what did we offer? Hows that working out for the Broncos now?
I genuinely think that we sign players for unders with the lure of playing under Robbo and networking with Nick as the bonus. However, this may result in players rejecting our offer for a more lucrative deal with another club as has been seen in recent years.
Could the hold be that we are keen to sign but unable to settle on a figure or post career opportunity? Given the NRLs appraisal, we might only have to offer $500k to snap him up.
Or the Chooks might just be a stepping stone before joining the Perth Bears ala Wally Lewis and the Gold Coast Seagulls under Marshall Salvo

Admittedly I do watch the Manly highlights because DCE could be coming here and everyone overreacts to how bad he is each week.

there was no hole for Ola, he was hit front on from Foran, bumped him off, then had to get past another 3 manly tacklers before dropping the ball.
His kicking game was again sub par, and he rarely takes the ball to the line, he has no help in the halves though, because brooks is second rate.

BTW if you go and watch the highlights again Townsend was our halfback against the Titans as well as against Souffs.
