    Stop teasing us 13 ffs.

It seems the logical thing to do the way he has gone this year. Probably a year too late.

He does seem to have played 1 season too many and 2 seasons here is looking like a mistake.

if we can’t win this year I’d like the Raiders too but I guess if Manly can win it and send DCE out a winner into retirement would be the best for everyone.

DCE is already very wealthy and very well respected for his ability as an NRL player (mostly). I feel like if he wants to play on after being dumped out of Origin, and wants to come to us instead of retiring or taking a kings ransom in the ESL or one of the shitkicking clubs of the NRL, it shows he has the desire and winning mentality to continue.

I do understand the skepticism but I genuinely see him being very valuable if he comes to us. I think we are focusing too much on his ability and less of what he brings to a side as a cool head or coach. Cronk didn’t come to our club because we wanted him to win games for us on his own off the back of 40/20s or try assists. Was more to compliment what we already had.

Perhaps Robbo sees something in DCEs game that he thinks will best compliment the current crop of players. That is exciting enough. Let’s see it play out.

doubt a move this year was ever on the cards but it's suddenly become more attractive. i probably don't want it but it could work

ESL is where DCE should be going for 2026 and beyond- Only his number 1 fan MKCS thinks the Roosters should sign him.

Hopefully cool heads prevail at the Roosters and they will realise signing him would be a major mistake - will 100% lose both Hugo and Sandon as why would either stick around - They will make their mark as a halves combo at the Bears instead - Meninga is keen on both - 2027 is not far away. - Both able to negotiate from November 1 2025 with other clubs. - signed only until 2026

Look at the poll, I voted in favour of DCE and so did 8 others therefore whilst we're a minority I'm not the only one thinking this way. Also, Coach Robinson agrees with me saying the following:

"It's pretty big news for the game obviously and pretty rare that a player like that comes on the market, especially at this time of the year. We haven't discussed it as yet, but as a business you've got to look at it as well. I'd say we'll get to that when we know a bit more info, though, about [when] decisions get made as well.

"I don't think I need to talk about how good a player he is. I think we all know how good he is and how dominant he's been in many arenas. I think it's pretty clear for everyone to see that.

"It will be interesting to see which direction he wants to go over the next few months."

              ---

You wouldn't go against COACH ROBINSON himself, would you?

As for the Bears, you're spot on, why pursue halves from the top 4 sides this year or the 2024 Dally M Medallist when Mal can sign Sandon Smith.

To be fair Robbo did make that quote after R3 where we had Townsend and Sandon as our halves. I think if you ran a survey after R5's loss against Souffs that most chookpenners would have wanted DCE to replace Townsend immediately including myself.

I hope someone asks him again at one of his pressers to see where he stands today assuming we haven't signed him already. Better still I hope someone asks Uncle Nick who is usually a straight shooter with his response. Buzz are you reading this???

Rightly or wrongly, Sandon is as good as gone already, regardless of whether DCE signs or not.

It’s funny people mention retirement. Some journos have now come out and said that the word is if Daly doesn’t sign with us, then he’s retiring.

Now I don’t know if that’s a positive sign that he really wants to come to us and won’t accept anything else, or it’s a sign that he really really hates Manly and if he can’t secure the final contract without having to move to QLD or UK, he’s content to hang them up.

Not drawing any further parallels to the two but Cronk did also actually come out with something similar that if he couldn’t find the right move to a Syd club after leaving Melbourne in 2017, he’d just retire all together.

DCE is yesterdays news and a knee jerk reaction signing as most on here know and starting to realise - Coach Robinson needs a cool head and stick with the program of internal development which is the way to success.

If I was in Bears Recruitment the Roosters players I would be targeting from November 1 2025 in the top 30 squad for 2027 with most coming from a very good pathways program would be the following
                      1. Sandon Smith - 22
                      2. Hugo Savala - 23
                      3. Blake Steep - 20
                      4. Naufahu Whyte - 23
                      5. Robert Toia 20
                      6. Salesi Foketi - 19
                      7. Mark Nawaqanitawase - 24
                      8. Benaiah Ioelu - 21
                      9. Tyler Moriarty- 22
                      10. Taylor Losalu - 22
                      11. De La Salle Va'a - 19
                      12. Darcy Smith - 18
                      13. Lachlan Dooner - 18
All under 25 with their best footy in front of them - The Bears need to build a squad for future success and not be focused on instant success as obviously your focus is.

I say they may sign a few of them come November 1 2025/2026

mmm talk about spoiling the Perth fans by gifting the new franchise such a supreme playmaker

Mal should go all out and sign Dom Young too

Every week that passes I’m thinking we might end up picking him up for a bargain. What’s he going for on the open market currently do you reckon? 400k?

Knights last week and with a team on paper that they should have smashed a Titans team with their best player out he gave nothing. Dead set against the two spooners in the last two weeks. How anyone can think he will add anything to our team is mind boggling.

Retire DCE. You are embarrassing yourself.
