This game highlighted how we only have one good prop in Whyte and how much we missed him
also how stupid to get rid of the best front rower last year without replacement

He needs to get the mullet back.
I also think he needs to put on a few kg so there’s more momentum when he hits the line. He’s not that heavy for such a tall front rower.

This is the argument that needs the most consideration IMO, he has moulded himself into this defensive workhorse who leads the line speed, does a lot of the clean up work around the ruck, comes up with some really big hits and I know the coaching staff will absolutely love him for that but he still needs to improve his output in attack slightly and I mean quality not so much the quantity. Potentially a little more size may help him in contact but if not he needs to change up his running style because just charging into the defensive line makes him easy pickings.

Reality is you always need players like Lindsay Collins & Nat Butcher in your pack to pick up some of that defensive workload off your more destructive ball carrying middles, they will always receive criticism because it's not the fun part of the game, just like Jake Friend used to for all those years.

Lindsay Collins has unfortunately been poor defensively since returning from his most recent injury which makes it harder to defend him right now. He still looks hindered.

          Agree R6
I think too many avocados and not enough steak.
He is coming back from a recent MCL injury and it takes time to get form back.
Most of us have played in team sports and know that players form comes and goes during a season.
Let’s hope he finds it sooner rather than later.
I will have a chat to him next time he’s in the chair.

Just wish he could push thru the defense. He needs to be feared - and at present I don't think he is.

I think he gave it a red hot crack, esp in the first half to meet and beat a bigger battle hardened pack over all. He didn't really have a similar prop to help him out although the guys tried hard. He seems to have lost a little power mainly with his running game. Maybe it will return.. TIT?

One of the many reasons I like you JFC - a measured and humane response to a long serving rooster who is struggling for form lately. Instead of just piling on.

Brisbane can have Collins and 20 minute Spencer and we can throw in Egan too. And we’ll take Haas.

He's a second rower, in my eyes.
He should be rested until he's 100% fit...then selected at 12, with Wong playing lock and Radley rested.

In the meantime Makatoa should be starting prop.
He was starting prop when we beat the Panthers.
He was starting prop when we beat the Sharks.
He was not starting prop when we lost to the Raiders.

It's a very bad idea to play injured players.
Radley is injured, and should be 'head injury' rested for a while, he's earnt it.

I think we would've had a better chance.
                      More energy, harder hitters.

JWH was good for about 10 games a year with guaranteed sin-bins during most of them. IMO his thing was revving up the boys... not his actual gameplay.

Hindered by the fact that He, Toia, CriKtown, Watson and Spenny were backing up from Origin? I know some played limited minutes but they still put out for 2 NRL games in a week.

Also the Faders have had no byes so they're on top of the ladder. Losing to their unconventional style by 2 wasn't a bad thing.

This was a game where we had limited attacking opportunities and just had to defend our @rses off. Then when we did get opportunities... Egan thought he was a quarterback and was like '10 HUT TRIPLE ALPHA BETA ZETA MOFOZ!!!' before hurling the ball forward 30m.

Heck even Toops had an uncharacteristic howler. IMO this result was totally not on 1 or 2 players. It was a team catastrophe and even then we almost won!!!

Collins is too one-dimensional. I feel he is at the crossroads of taking the Martin Lang approach of being bashed into early retirement, the Dave Shillington "pillow" approach of self-preservation into early retirement...or he could just learn to step before the line...

He's a second rower not a prop, always has been.
We must beat the lightning fast Knights to have any hope of making the 8 this year.
To do this Collins must play 12, second row...Radley rested, Wong to lock.

Makatoa must be a starting prop.
He plays prop, and we get our act together, we win.
We must field a big pack of forwards... Collins to get after their left side speedsters...whack, down they go.
It's time to get serious if we desire to make the 8.
