Of course stats don't lie as any one knows.

Not sure that it's sunk into a few heads of here that high set completions is paramount in the modern game as is possession % - Do people think it was only a coincidence that during Penrith's premiership years that they averaged 82% set completions and 54% possession rates

Possession is 9/10th's of the Law as they say

The Roosters are not great in either of those areas as we all know - 2024 was an exception - Tonight vs Raiders - 65% set completions and 42% possession - You won't win a game with just those two stats - as obviously you have made a raft of errors to get behind your opposition in these two stats- Raiders 86% set completions and 58% possession % tonight.

    2024

    Set Completions - 5th - 80%
    Possession % - 8th - 50%

    2025 so far

    Set Completions - 16th - 72% average
    Possession % - 13th - 49% average

Doesn’t paint a pretty picture those stats. Totally agree. Our defence in the first 25 minutes was fantastic but then we started dropping the ball and the momentum largely started to Favour the Raiders.
I think we would have won if we didn’t drop the ball so much

I prefer roosters effort tonight than the broncos effort last night. Our team is missing plenty of players but they are still having a dig and only just outside the eight. Go easy on them. It is only footy after all.

We aren’t winning too many and have had plenty of games we could easily have won but are just fading away in the last 20. If you don’t think the coaching staff is responsible for this be interested who the hell is

A very annoying game. Had it in the bag but errors cost us again. Thought in every other aspect we did well. Our ball handling is so bad that it doesn’t matter how good we are, we still will lose
            EASTS TO WIN!

Yep give over easy possession more defense more petrol used.

I just can't agree with EButch in the 17 at this point.

In fairness Collins and Spence had limited impact after backing up. Toia, Watson and Crighton seemed to fair better

Too many errors made it not our night...very close and that's a good thing.

We might've lost to Dogs & Raiders but we weren't blown away....that's pretty ok for a half side of newbies.

              Glass half full I guess.

Unfortunately these narrow losses will bite us in the arse come September.

We aren't going to win the comp this year.
We won't make the top 4, and we are probably a 50-50 toss up to make the 8.

We never were in the running this year, and even Uncle Nick wouldn't expect the team to win the comp.

This year is about shaping the future - the next 3 years.

Dropping some matches this year doesn't bother me at all, as I can see there is some really special talent already in the squad and new connections are being tried and tested, the greener players are learning, and the ones who may not have a place longer term can be identified.

I think you need to chill out personally.

He needs to stop dropping the ball from good passes.
Not all our passes are good though, and he's not the only player who drops the ball.

When I was at the game last night, I thought the Raiders won the game in the forwards.
But I was wrong, after watching the replay today.
The raiders beat us 1 thru 13.
In the first half , errors by Toops, Billy Smith in dropping the ball in tackles, and Nawa and Toia being dragged over the sideline, and Teddy attempting a kick on the sixth and getting smashed by Young, all came about because they were playing much more aggressively than us across the park.
Nearly all the errors were the result of their aggression.
How do you fix it ?
Well, start feeding the Roosters players some angry pills, because until you do , the Roosters will never beat the Raiders, even though our side can play better football than them.

I just don’t get some of the toughness that is lacking in our side. When the Raiders were hitting us with three in the tackle, they were pushing us backwards, belting us on our backs, and making the tackles sting.
Then you look at the Roosters, often 3 in the tackle, but we just hold them up on their feet. We have guys holding on, but nobody driving the player backwards and is HURTING them in the tackle , even though we have numbers in that tackle.

Same goes for when the Raiders had the ball in passive plays - once they surrendered because of a shepherd, but our players went up and cuddled him, rather than smashing him. Also happened when they ran across field, our players stood back and watched.

If the Roosters had half of the aggression that the Raiders had, we would have lapped them last night.

The Raiders are a shit ordinary side , but Sticky has got them playing to a winning formula.

Fire up Roosters , FFS !

                          He isn’t big,
                          he isn’t fast,
                          and he drops the ball,

all the things you are against.

Yes, we need to bash, smash, and trash em (legally of course), but don't.
We're far too nice, far too gentlemanly. As a result we're the ones getting smashed.

                              It's a fair point.

Gus Creighton and Spencer are the only two c**ts in our team these days. Rads has gone softer due to necessity, and the other blokes just dont have it because they are either too young, or just dont have any c**t in them (Collins, N Butcher). Although we have a good squad, no one is scared of our pack like they used to be.

Unless Robbo told everyone to pull their heads in due to the penalty counts we used to rack up.

This is a major part of the reason why we struggle against these sort of teams, grinding teams always trouble us..
