  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Raiders

Opportunity knocks tonight for the Roosters! A huge chance to take down another quality team and get our home record back on track.

This one's shaping up to be an absolute belter of a game. You’d expect the Origin boys to return fired up after watching that incredible show the young guns put on last week.

Momentum is everything as we approach the halfway mark of the season and with Sam Walker’s return imminent, things are looking up. Let’s keep climbing and crack into that top 8! And when we do win, we get the entertainment of Ricky's press conference and all his excuses. No excuses Ricky! Can't wait to get out there.

    Kick-off 615pm.

    GO ROOSTERS!

In all the wins this season, our opponents have ultimately played poorly against us. Raiders will be our real test of the season today. If we can beat them tonight or at least be super competitive with whyte and Sammy still to return, i think we can really do something amazing in this comp.

This one means a lot on our home turf.

From memory they've got the wood on us over the past few years.

A victory followed by a bye would position us nicely for the run home.

The game plan is simple match the raiders pack in the middle and cut them to bits out wide good move to bring in the young hooker looking forward to see how Toia goes today

              Questions...

              - Has Benno jumped Cassius in the pecking order or is there an injury there?

              - Dom's the replacement. I would suggest this means he's not on the outer as Robbo's choosing to take him to the game rather than a forward/utility. Sure you never get to use your replacement but to me it's still a deliberate call.

They may well at home - last year they injured all our players and farked our season when we were on a roll. Like we beat them until Walker, Smith and Rads went down. It's what I hate about the Faders... they farking niggle and play awkward footy designed to put you off your game. Had we beaten them without injuries then we woulda finished 2nd and made the GF in my opinion.

That said, I remember us beating them by a LOT in Canberra as I was there. Lotsa Faders fans threw the towel in early and were walking out saying 'THANK YOU UNCLE NICK YA FARKIN CHEAT!!! WE KNOW ABOUT YOUR BROWN BAGS MATE!!!'

Big game for our position on the ladder with all teams above us winning this week or having the bye - week need the win to stay in touch. Cmon Chookies!

We don't have any excuse to lose tonight.

Collins and Crichton MUST have outstanding games. A bit underwhelming these 2 so far in 2025.

                      Go the mighty R W and B.

They said on Fox last night that the Raiders have won 4 on the trot against us in Sydney. Time to right that wrong tonight.

Whyte would've been super handy in this game.
