I am not a big EButch fan but he did play very well last week for 80 minutes and was not going to get dropped. I will be surprised if he plays once Whyte and NButch come back.
But he dropped just one ball tonight and we weren't able to defend it. Ten other players dropped the ball (16 in total) and we defended them apart from two of Marky's. Apart from that dropped ball he made 32 tackles in 37 minutes and his attack was on par with Spencer and a couple of others for time played.
His dropped ball was one of many reason we lost tonight but he wasn't as bad as what you are making out.

Billy Smith is overrated. Marky N back to centre and Dom out to the wing next week.

Our outside backs are missing one ingredient- speed.
Teddy makes breaks but is roped in because he no longer has speed , Toops is ageing, Marky is no speedster, and Bobby T, tho powerful isn’t blessed with pace.
I haven’t seen Billy Smith in the open this year, and this is a worry.
Every time the Roosters make a clean break, I am half out of my seat, but I know we will be caught because we don’t have speed in the backline.
Its so bad it’s an anti - climax - happening at every game.
The guy who does have pace, Dom, we are getting rid of.
I know everyone on the pen said sack him because of his defensive issues, but this will come back and bite us on the bum.

forward pass ruling, followed by the Teddy “obstruction “ run soon after, spoiled my night.
The raiders pack won the yardage battle, and I thought their physicality had a lot to do with our dropped ball, and dumb mistakes. Not enough mongrel in the forwards. From there, the Raiders had field position, and the grubber kick tries were inevitable.
Whyte coming back might help with the yardage.
Perhaps Foketi, Inoelu, Steep & Wong need more match time to become battle hardened - I thought they were up to it this year , but could be that call is too early.

I seem to recall the Raiders scored twice after two of Mark Nawaqanitawase errors - note the Dogs game - second half - when Mark dropped those kicks gifting the Dogs back to back sets - resulted in at least 2 tries.

Typical game between these teams. The clincher was their error free game, compared to our too many. Makes it so hard to win, and we damn near pulled it off. That was our toughest opponent this year.

Really disappointed for our guys, so many of our boys worked their guts out. What might have been if we could hold the ball, or force an error.

Teddy was incredible. Robert Toia could be one of the best centres we've seen moving forward. Sign him long term.

Yeah, Bobby T is a real gem. Continually busts tackles with the ball, and in defence, guys like Latrell Mitchell have no hope against him.

Probably one of the very few who thinks it's a bad decision to allow Dom to go - you can't train for or buy speed. - The Roosters have basically plodders in the backline now(1 to 5) - maximum pace wise of 20 and up to 30 metres at a pinch.

Only other back it looks like that they will have as a replacement is Ethan King who does have speed at least but unlikely to get a run - A fullback who can play centre

Just that Egan doesn’t offer anything good to the team and still delivers poor errors at crucial times again resulting in tries

Not having a go at Billy Smith but where has his speed gone?

In the past when watching him he seemed quicker than he does this year,for some reason he looks a step slower..

Not sure if he’s carrying an injury or the past injuries have slowed him down..
