  • Sydney Roosters Release Anthony Mitchell

    Monday, 25 June 2012

The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Anthony Mitchell has been granted an immediate release from his contract to join the North Queensland Cowboys.

Sydney Roosters chief executive Steve Noyce said: “A Townsville Brothers junior, we are aware of Anthony’s ties to far north Queensland and recognise that this is a wonderful opportunity for him to go home to his family and secure his future.

“Anthony has been a terrific ambassador for the Sydney Roosters both on and off the field in his time with the club and he leaves with our best wishes for the future.”

Todd Carney, Nate Myles, Jason Ryles, Kane Linnett, Phil Graham, Anthony Mitchell, I forget the rest; Perrett by the end of the week.

Surely we have about 2 million in cap space - what is going on? We have a team with one questionable rep player, the rest either babies or should be retired. I am amazed we have won any games.

In contrast, clubs like the dogs and souffs have, taking the "private sponsorship" rort into account, rosters worth about 8 million.

I dont get these players being allowed to leave mid season. When you sign a contract its for 1 yr, 2yrs, 3yrs etc, not farkin 1& a half yrs, 2& a half yrs etc. You are contracted to the end of the season, farking stay and do your job kunce!

            He did nothing yesterday.

We can spend the money better elsewhere.

              Time we joined the bandwagon.

Phil Graham is the one we should've kept.

Ryles, gave stupid penalties away all the time.
Carney, we kept Anasta and signed Maloney, instead.
Myles, as mentioned by someone else in another thread here, gave away dumb penalties in the Titans game and cost them the match.
              Linnett, too thin, always injured.

So we have to suffer with Friend, his crap dummy half service and indecisiveness for the full 80 now? YAY

Maybe Mortimer will play more hooker... he's lively and would do well for impact.

                      Not he.

He played well against the Tigers, but that was a week ago.
He wants to go, let him go.

Perrett wants to go, let him go.
He seemed not to be that interested yesterday.

A good coach could improve Jake's game.

There could be some signing news prior to the 30th June.
That means this week of course.

We live in hope it is a decent back.
                            Ideally a 5/8th.

Heavens knows something good has to come of all this crap!

Well MY plan was for Morts to play 5/8 when Anasta was "unexpectedly" injured ... but there goes that!
