    - I've openly admitted many times that DCE is on the back end of his career, it's a big part of why I think we need him, experienced player who has done it all in the game to lead around our much younger side.

    - Manly offered him 2 years at 750k a season, hardly a low ball.

    - If DCE is playing shit and his time is up then you must feel that way about our halves as well because again, DCE is outdoing their combined efforts on most stats.
So you are OK with signing someone at the back end of their career for two years ?
What has he to offer Savala already in his early twenties and playing so well, that IMO has contributed significantly to our turnaround ?
If we have to have here, not for TWO seasons.
I'd have more excitement watching a penguin shove a brussel sprout up its arse, than have him in our colours.

You missed my point. You proved pointing out that Hugo's stats are better than Moses, Cleary and Luai that he must be better.
I am saying that stats mean SFA. Our boys are winning with inferior teams against better opposition and playing better than DCE. Their individual stats mean nothing. They do their job and they are doing it well. Hugo has improved the team dynamics out of sight. And come Walker we will see if Hugo's position in the team is even more important.

Manly offered one year. It was only after the damage was done and DCE went public that Manly tried to save face on Channel 9 or Fox that they were "prepared" to offer two years knowing DCE will tell them to GFY. Everyone knows that.

Anyway no point discussing it. You are madly in love with the thought of DCE coming so good for you. Just incredible to think that he is actually worth risking $1M over 2 years. A massive gamble by the club. If he comes I will support him 100% and keeping a close on on what Hugo does hopefully not with another team.

Seems like there is no contract with DCE, so a backflip could be easily done by the club if they have changed their mind.

would be ironic for DCE if it was to happen to him this time round.

The Roosters seem to make their mind up on recruitment around November the year before

I think signing Fifita last year was actually done before Angus had a breakout year.
Same with Robson being signed before a ball was kicked, DCE was probably the same.

I'm all for planning in advance but sometimes the higher ups should actually give the squad they have a chance first like they have been suggesting at face value.

I tend to agree. Watson has been as good as anyone at 9 this season and Iuelu has got rave reviews from the club and has been signed long term. Robbo spoke glowingly of him aswell. So it doesn’t make sense that we signed Robson over the top of him.

I also think DCE call was made based off of him usurping Sandon and Hugo wasn’t factored in. Keep in mind we signed Townsend and he got first crack over Hugo. So it stands to reason that Rohho thought we needed an organising half or at least a foil for Sam as Sandon was too similar. Now we have one but we are still a proceeding with the DCE plan.

I really like DCE as a player if he comes but we need to keep ahold of Savala for sure.

there's arguments both ways - if they don't make an early deal with a player, they might lose the chance to sign him

To my knowledge the club is looking for DCE for 1 year which I'd be in favour of, two year deal? I'm not sure, it would depend how he plays in 2026 I guess.

I never said he has better stats I said Hugo has got a better win record.

DCE was offered 2 years by Manly, here's the video to prove it, was within the first 30 seconds of the video:

Hugo has said he's happy to go out on loan to another team so no worries there.

His manager said he would explore loan options - not sure I have seen/read that Hugo was onboard with that though.

They need to stick with the pathway program and keep developing internally and providing the opportunities to advance to NRL plus keep playing NRL and not blocking them.

The market will be very interesting with the Bears on November 1 2025 and PNG on November 1 2026 able to sign players

All NRL clubs can sign up to 2 PNG pathway players outside the cap to fast track their development for when PNG enters the comp in 2028.

We are going around in circles.

Their offer was one year all along. As mentioned, only when DCE said he would be leaving did Manly come out on Fox and Channel 9 and every fkn media outlet on that very day that they will offer two years. Listen to it closely. Manly will come with a "counter offer of 2 years". Why didn't they offer 2 years before he said he was leaving. Think about it.

They knew he wouldn't accept it. It was so they don't look like fkn idiots and try and make him look like a dick.

Your knowledge of our "1 year" offer is paper talk. The same paper talk that said we are offering 2 years and it is going back and forward depending on who says what. Nobody outside our four walls knows what we are prepared to offer.

My understanding it is 2 years. So if it is 2 years do you still want him?

                            My fkn head hurts.
