  • Difference in the warm up

A distinct difference was notable in the warm ups for Manly and us yesterday.

We were all seemingly doing individual warm ups with a bit of team stuff but not much.

Manly spent 80% of the time running team drills, passing and set plays.

Do we do it too but before we run onto the field (i.e. in the training ground outside the stadium)?

If we don't but others do, does it help them when it's match time?

    Probably.

I've always found it a good policy in life to copy from successful people. [not their bad habits of course].
Manly is a successful team, so we should be copying what they do.
    We can't get any worse.

I honestly had a bad feeling as soon as I saw the warm ups... the result didn't change my mind.

They were running passing down the line drills in front of me in Bay 32, I saw Mose drop one, also Anasta had a few kicks at goal, he hit the post on at least one of them, Jnr Jnr was practising grubbers into the in-goal zone, when they finished their drills Fitzy & to a lesser extent Elliot was addressing the rest of the squad, looked very relaxed though, not the intensity that you'd expect 5 mins before a game v the Premiers!

Well we do come out flat every single week, no surprises on why.

We spoke about this prior to the Broncos game and how disjointed we are even before we start. I actually didn't pay attention to the warm up so maybe I'm well intrenched in the Roosters culture. Get me a jersey and I'm sure I can imitate a Roosters player.

The Manly players were all very calm, some of them were laughing and having a joke. They obviously know how superior they are to us and they knew that they would comfortably demolish us. Sad isn't it.

No...just one team better than the other at a given point in time.

We scored 40 or so points and beat the Tigers last week.

Hard to practice set plays in warm up when we don't have any

That's funny, they seem to be better than us at every given time.

Maybe it's the set play you have when you don't have any!
