  • Official match day thread: Roosters versus Sharks

The young guns stepping up tonight is a glimpse of the Roosters’ future, and there’s nothing like seeing the next generation have a crack under the lights. The Sharks might be full strength, but heart and hunger can go a long way.

Hopefully the boys lay down the law early and remind Cronulla that nothing comes easy, especially against a proud club like the us.

Whatever happens, it’s all upside tonight. But who knows? Stranger things have happened than an upset at Gosford.

Toby Rodwell and some of the SG Ball boys are getting a run, always exciting to watch them rise through the ranks.

    Kick-off 735am.

    Let’s go Roosters!

not looking forward to this tbh .

I know it's a free throw at the stumps, but missing 5 to soo just when we were finding some form is tough .

suspect well keep it close on enthusiasm for the first 60 - 65 mins and cronulla icing the result in final 10 .

      complete mismatch imo .

but stranger things have happened I guess.

I’m not expecting a win tonight, or even for it to be close, but I’m very excited at more of our youth getting their chance to debut. This must be the youngest team we’ve fielded in living memory. Go well young fellas; give it your best shot.

I’m relaxed tonight not expecting anything
we have 8 players out including the 3 injured guys - up to 7 players potentially back next weekend

like Penrith or broncos sometimes younger guys trying to push for spots is a massive card for the guys to show they can play nrl and no pressure against them

look forward to seeing Xavier Vaa finally get a shot this weekend.

All three grades playing at home away from home, Gosford.

Flegg playing the Sharks at 3pm
NSW cup v Newtown Jets at 5pm

Nice little entree before the main course.

Hope the ground holds up for first grade

Hopefully our veterans Savala and Smith step up tonight and lead the way for the young debutantes.
I'm loving this season , it's so far exceeded my expectations and im at ease knowing we have a bright future and our players are still responding to Robbo.
iv kicked the feet up and im just enjoying the ride.

                Go the Roosters

The Sharks are down Rudolph, Wilton, Hazelton & Stonestreet so they have a few out also.
They have a full strength spine so if they cant get the job done thats a big worry for them.
I cant see us winning but then again I didnt think the Dolphins or Parra would win in this round either.
                  Good luck Chooks.

It would be great to win 13
I can't see it.I tell you what if they win 13 is taking us all out to Dinner.

I can’t see us winning but I suppose like the riff game it may be a nice surprise. It will be good to see a couple more debutants get a game.

won't be easy but if we defend well we'll be competitive

Still recovering from last weeks 'game of two halves'. Had Vic the Bog at Oranges, and he decides to not put the body on the line in defence in the 2nd half. One of the weirdest games I can recall.

This one scares me too with the combo of a damp track and Gosford. On paper the Sharks have too much experience and stability for us. But on the plus side it's a good opportunity for some young bucks with nothing to lose.

Need a big boot game from Hugo.

Story in the paper yesterday about the Steep family home affected by flooding in Port Mac. Lost some stuff and have been unable to get to Gossy to watch Blake play. Thoughts with them and all affected by these devastating floods.

                              Go the mighty R W & B.

                              A win would be sensational.
