The EPL and The Championship suspend their competitions for international games. Don’t know about the others.

The Sharks called Trindall in for a video session which they estimated would take 1 hour of his time. They rolled the tape, 5 minutes in and countless poor defensive reads from Dom Young and Trindall starts licking his lips, responds with"snack" and the video session is over.

Yes but ALL leagues are suspended during this period. There are allocated dates for international matches to be played and during this period there are no domestic matches played.

How the world has changed - the ponies only have that over rated dude Carrigan picked.

We have 5 - and the Titans (a QLD Cup side) put 30 on us.

Cue the ' Benny Hill Show ' music.

It is ironic that both the Panthers and Roosters have the highest representation in origin - 5 players each, but both teams are currently out of the eight on the ladder.

Both teams will suffer more than the other teams , during the origin period.

But both teams are the ones that can’t afford to release players to origin.

                Catch 22.

                  All by design I'm afraid.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Ironic is not the word I’d use. Ridiculous, farcical maybe.

It doesn't mean that the players when they come back from International duties play the first game back - Forest had a few who missed at least the next 1 or 2 Games when the comp restarted. When they play home and away legs the travel involved becomes as factor.

Players have been stood down from playing for their clubs basically since 1980 during SOO.

You missed the point though. They all suspend their leagues, so it is an even playing field. Some clubs rest players after returning, some players get injured, some players have to travel further but that can happen to anyone. This is not an even playing field, where some teams are playing and some teams aren't.

mmm so players are out either injured or rested when they return from International duties and miss games when those comps restart. - Not sure what the difference is?

How long has it been that players have been stood down from club footy when selected for SOO- Since 1980 perhaps - 45 years ago?

No quite sure how in 2025 this would be a problem when it's been happening for the best part of 45 years.

Clubs have a say in the draw each year - was someone at the Roosters not on their game to question why the Roosters have no byes during SOO?

Good to see buzz ripping in on NRL360 about this same topic and in the paper. Brent Reid is a dick trying to argue that it was fair ffs.

But no games are played during international breaks.

So just because it's been happening since 1980 we'll just keep doing it. The clubs play the players to play for the club.

                              In indefensible in my opinion.

The percentage of players that miss games for their clubs is small.

The point you are purposely missing is that the leagues are suspended during international breaks.
