Price of fixing another recruitment blunder.

King it’s not wise to assume we are a bunch of under achievers.

HE performed really well in NSW cup last week. The drop in class helped him or it shows how poorly he was trying in firsts. I think Trent has decided it’s either attitude or just not learning the lessons nor following instructions. Cya.
I think signing someone to a 4 year deal then releasing him after 18 months and having to pay a percentage of the players salary to release him is a failure of sorts. The reasons he failed and why he was dropped are not relevant, although I agree with what you’ve said above. He has proven to not be effective enough carrying out of his own end and his defence is suss.

KS will be in all sorts. His beloved Robbo who can never Be questioned had told his beloved Dom Young that he sucks and he’s no longer required.

If that’s the case then with the vermin paying the club 180k for Smith then it costs the club only 70k to get rid of both Smith and Dom.

Not really. The Vermin are paying $180K for Smith, but we are still paying him too and we have to keep paying Dom for the next 2 seasons.

              • It's a mess.
Surely there are lessons here for us with the future assessing and signing of players.
If Dom wants to stay he should stay, play NSW Cup, bulk up and improve his defence.

We don't need DCE...how much is he costing?

When is a contract a contract?

Which is why I’m branding them recruitment failures and failures from the coach. Excellent that we’ve seen the light and not held onto them for the sake of it, but we still have to fork out money for players off our books and playing elsewhere and need to go back to the well for replacements. In my eyes that’s failure. Recruitment has been shocked this past 5 years for the most part.

If club and player agree then a contract should be able to be voided I think. Dom Young could've stayed and played NSW Cup for the next 2 and a half years if he wanted to, that's what Jackson Hastings is doing right now with Newcastle, I believe he refuses to break his contract.

dom young's obviously not a recruitment success but you can't win them all and the club wouldn't have known they could get marky at the time they signed dom.
easy being a genius after the event

                        Interesting.

Meanwhile, headline sports new states that the Titans are reportedly shopping David Fifita around.
Something about a breakdown in his relationship with coach Hasler.
Seems Fifita is being blamed for all the Titans. losses.
Apparently he had surgery last season on an ankle injury.
Injury is said to not to be 100% healed yet.

                        • What’s the latest with Joey Manu?
                          maybe he’s coming home?
There's a reason why the young and idealistic become the old and cynical.
                          It's called experience.

                            • I find it hilarious that Fifita, the titans and des Hasler are in atm
serves them all right for backing out on our deal
and thank god they did otherwise it would be just another recruitment f up we had made and trying to get out of early

                              • If we're paying $250k for the next 2 years for him to play elsewhere, we might as well keep him as a backup. It basically costs the club $200k to have a serviceable winger in case one of our starters go down. Minimum is $140k, and the spot needs to be filled. The $60k saving isn't going to do anything...
