  • Brad Fittler's Roosters tries

Hey guys, just thought I'd post these two vids that were uploaded to youtube. Just a reminder of the amazing player he was. In my eyes the greatest Rooster ever and should be an Immortal.

    Enjoy.

Great memories, and that's just the ones he scored. For a guy who was big enough to play the forwards he sure did have some toe.

Had to do a double take on the City jersey, looked like a dead set Storm kit.

Interesting you post this, I saw someone questioning if Teddy is the greatest ever Roosters signing. For mine it's still Freddy but Tedesco still has another few years left in him to change that narrative.

IMO the greatest Roosters signing will always be Dally Messenger you could argue that we wouldn't even be here talking rugby league if it wasn't for him.

Teddy v Freddy is a tough one for best signings. You could throw Artie in the mix as well. What's missing in Teddy's CV is that he needs to captain the team to a premiership!

I just noticed your avatar. Mate I know you are a Rooster supporter, but surely having Souffs #1 brown nose as your avatar should warrant a banning. Lol

No surprise that so many of you on here are in favour of censorship

For me Freddy was the best signing we’ve had. He single handledly dragged to club out of the doldrums in the late 90’s. Teddy is special and beyond compare in his position, but comes 2nd as our best signing of the NRL era IMO.

Fittler was never given the plaudits he deserved. As talented and influential as Andrew Johns, but never went missing in games like Johns did. Freddy played at a very high level consistently through his career, but Johns could be very hot and cold, yet became the 8th Immortal. They talk of players like Lockyer and Thurston as future Immortals; Freddy was better than both.

It’s scary how good he could have been if he wasn’t such a party boy.

Agree 100% Freddy should be ahead of both. He is the best 5/8 I've seen (with my Roosters rose-coloured glasses off).

my fav all time player , genius .

thought he was superior to locker and equal with johns , superior to Thurston as well .

if I'm honest I hate him but the best player I've seen is Cameron Smith even though his highlight reel would suck .

I love Freddy he's one of my all time favourite players but I'm not sure he was better than Lockyer and Thurston I put all 3 of them equally: Freddy and Lockyer dominated the game at multiple positions while both came in to first grade young and were playing rep football very young, they made everyone around them better and usually saved their best for the big games like finals, origin, internationals. Thurston played the bulk of his career in a team without many star players and had to be the driving force of everything the Cowboys did, he was regularly the best player on the park for the Maroons in their dominance and if you put him in a stronger NRL team he would have won so much more but 1 premiership with the Cowboys is worth more than multiples with a cheating Melbourne team.

I always thought Andrew Johns was a bit overrated and his best years came at the back end of his career and I don't think he should be an immortal over the guys we've already mentioned but also ahead of guys like Ricky Stuart, Allan Langer, Laurie Daley, Cliff Lyons then the stars of the 70s and 80s I didn't get to watch live. Mal Meninga didn't deserve to be an immortal either.
