Hugo has the best long kicking game we have had since Mitchell Pierce. Probably longer than Mitch. He has the potential to add a lot to our game. We have too many young halves to find spots for especially now we have just won SG Ball with Rodwell and Walker

I’ve been thinking similar.

Pearce could give it a thump but wasn’t as accurate and he often went for a mid field bomb style kick to give the chase time to swarm the return.

Cronk was accurate and very tactical in his choice of kick but not overly long.

Hugo kind of harks back to Andrew Walker and Todd Carney times with sweet timing, tactical choice and excellent accuracy combined which makes him very formidable.

The club hasn’t seemed to prioritise the long kicking game much with Keary and Walker as that isn’t one of their strengths but it should be considered. A good kick at the end of a shit set can swing momentum quickly and should be highly valued.
