  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Dolphins

We are starting to click into gear and this week’s game offers a platform to build serious momentum. We’re 2 wins from our last 3. We are finding some rhythm and have the same side 2 weeks in a row.

Dolphins have some dangerous backs and some good forwards but if we play with the right attitude our pack can overcome theirs. Angus and Victor must lead the way. We need to dominate through the middle. Discipline and intent will be key and if we complete our sets we should see a repeat of our last trip to Suncorp.

This should be a good one. Let’s build on our momentum and consistency and get the 2 points.

    Kick-off 8.05pm.

    Go Roosters!

Wow up early 13 - you hitching to Bris Vegas? Good signs last week with Sandons performance which now looks like we have some strike in the halves rather than just shuffling on to the outside men to create. This will help the outside men as the Dolphins will have to focus on Sandons running game.

Agree we need big games from Gus and Vic but also the rest of the pack. I think we have them in the forwards if they all turn up. Their pack is weakened with no Siafiti or Kafusi so we win it there imo. Get them going backwards and no reason why Sandon can’t back it up and our backline create havoc. Looking forward to it. Lenui is key, Whyte can’t do it all.

Big game for our season if we can make it 3/4 we get some momentum.

Comparing the team lists we are fairly even in the backs and halves. If our forwards are on we own the middle and our bench smokes theirs.

This is a huge game in terms of the table. A win will really be a boost before the bye. I'm hoping Sandon has another big game.

Important 2 points. A win gets us back on track for the season. Glad it's a Friday game. Won't want to run onto Suncrap on Sunday afro after 8 games.

Big opportunity to set ourselves for a move up the ladder. All going well we could be in the 8 come our 2nd bye.

I'd love to see some consistency from here on in ... a repeat of last weeks effort and execution, with growth on top over time.

              GO EASTS !!

Thinking Savala’s big boot will be needed to pressure their back 3. Also wanting a big breakout 2025 game for Siua Wong.

We will go back to back for the first time this year. Expect a high scoring game from both teams, maybe something like 36-24. Chooks by 12.

From the solemnity and reverence of Anzac Day to the carnival like atmosphere of Magic Round, Qld style. It is indeed about the fans this weekend.

I was concerned that we might suffer a letdown from last weeks occasion and the high of such a good win. But looking at our recent history we generally bounce off 25/4 with good energy. That will set up a very entertaining clash. The Dolphins will be inspired with local support and looking to hit back from last week. The Woolfman has really slipped under the radar, gets very little ink at least not in NSW. Not easy taking over from Long Tall Sally.

Their backline is pretty hot with speed and flair. We have our own flair too this year. Love what Holbrook is doing, esp around our offloads which we've been beaten at in some years past. The young guys are always aware to promote the ball if they can.

Never thought I'd say it but give Josh Kerr plenty of attention. He has been very dangerous this year.

I'm not a big fan of Egan but to his credit he did well last week. Smash some more egg in the face EButch.

Looking forward to this game, I think there will be some pretty moments.
