We actually had a traditional good friday match with Brisbane before Souths got to have good friday match which happened when both good friday and Anzac Day were separated by 2 or 3 days one season so we chose to play Anzac Day and we haven't gone back to good friday since.

I actually think that the good friday tradition with Brisbane started before the Anzac Day cup with the Dragons I am sure we first played it in 2001, not sure when the last match was but the last one I remember was in 2010 when Carney carved them up at fullback a few days after we had 60 put on us by the Dogs on a sunday afternoon when Martin Kennedy fell over from the kick off.

Doesn’t bother me that they don’t speak to the media, they will just try and bait them into a reaction that the media can play on for a few days, there are 16 other players they can chat to, but they probably know they won’t get a media headline worthy response from those guys.

Dafuq is this thread about? Guessing Hornby was sent into the presser in round 8 or something as Wayne fronted the presser last week with Wighton. Also Cam Murray's the cap'n but isn't playing (not Latrell) so having Wighton there isn't odd at all.

PS - I know it's not PC but why has Wighton started bunging on an indigie accent? As a Canberran it was a JOKE that he pulled the race card when arrested for a serious assault as he hadn't identified as indigenous until then. To be fair, Latrell's pretty much to face of Origin right now and will do plenty of interviews I'm sure. If he's got some sorta exemption then IMO it'd be cleared with the NRL and he'd be working with their PR team to promote Origin. They love polarising shyte anyway given Origin is REALLY just a commercial product to pretend the NSW/QLD-RL bodies (plus Ch 9) are power brokers and that Fox hasn't just bought the game & branded it 'NRL' instead of 'Super League'. We all know Fox have their Lib Party muppets in charge of the game at all levels
and any NRL CEO who prioritises FTA contracts will be turfed immediately. Origin's just a show/myth IMO.

Completely wrong. He placed a media ban on himself 9 months ago, and has done no interviews since. So he will do no interviews to promote Origin 3 whatsoever, just like he did none in the leadup to games 1 and 2. This is one of the biggest origin deciders in years, and this entitled knob refuses to give the fans 10 minutes of his time to promote it. He doesn't even do media for Souths. I bet if his million dollar contract money was dependent on crowds and TV ratings he'd change his tune.

And of course the NRL and Souths are too scared of upsetting him, so they just turn a blind eye and let him give the fans the finger. What if every player refused to do media? Why do other players have to do more to fill the gaps to make up for him doing none?

It started about Wayne & Latrell not fronting for the post match interview after an earlier this year round loss, Hornby & Wighton fronted, I thought it was pretty clear.
I then bummed the thread after last week ends game when I saw Wayne in the post match interviewed with Wighton & I posted about the rash on both sides of his face.
I hope that explains what Defug this thread is about.
